Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy, located in Alloa, Sauchie, has gained a mixed reputation among its patrons. While some highlight the friendly service and accessibility features, others express frustration over long wait times and prescription management issues.
Accessibility Options
One of the key features of Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy is its wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance, ensuring that all customers can easily access their services. This commitment to accessibility is crucial for individuals with mobility challenges, allowing them to receive their medications and consultations without barriers.
Service Options and Payments
The pharmacy offers various service options, including delivery services, which can be particularly beneficial for those unable to visit in person. Customers can make payments using traditional methods like credit cards and debit cards, as well as modern solutions like NFC mobile payments. However, despite these conveniences, many customers report issues with the efficiency of service.
Customer Experiences
Customer feedback reveals a troubling trend regarding service speed. Many patients have described their visits as a "quick visit" turning into extended waits, often citing that they were left outside in the rain while queueing. Complaints about the slow service are prevalent, with some stating that they have waited upwards of 30 minutes only to find their prescriptions were not ready.
The Need for Improvement
Feedback suggests a need for significant improvements in how the pharmacy manages prescriptions and customer interactions. Phrases such as “too busy” and “not answering the phone” dominate reviews, indicating a lack of effective communication. Customers have expressed disappointment in the pharmacy’s apparent inability to respond promptly or efficiently to requests, leading to critical situations where essential medication is delayed.
Community Involvement
Despite the challenges, some customers appreciate the staff's willingness to help. Reports of friendly and helpful employees show that there is potential for positive experiences. As noted by several patrons, those who have had positive interactions often mention the staff’s dedication and approachability.
Conclusion: A Call for Change
In conclusion, Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy in Sauchie demonstrates both strengths and weaknesses. The wheelchair-accessible entrance and payment methods add to its convenience, yet the service options fall short in terms of efficiency and customer satisfaction. For the pharmacy to maintain its place in the community, it will require an overhaul of its operations to enhance service delivery and customer relations, ensuring that all patients receive the timely care they deserve.

I've noticed some recent staff turnover at my local pharmacy, which initially caused some hiccups. However, it looks like they have settled with a consistent team now, which is great for customers like myself who rely on regular medication. The staff are quite helpful and very understanding of our needs.

I placed an order for some tablets on the 4th of July, but when the package arrived on the 11th of July, the label on the box indicated that they were packed on the 6th of July. I only managed to pick them up on the 15th of July at 5.50 pm. If I hadn't collected them then, goodness knows how much longer it would have taken. It's quite baffling how it supposedly takes five whole days just to pack some tablets into a bag and then leave them on a shelf for another five days. I would really appreciate a genuine explanation for this delay. Thanks for your attention.

Absolutely dreadful pharmacy experience. The service was incredibly slow and unprofessional, with a severe lack of organization among the staff. I waited patiently for 30 minutes for a prescription for my seriously ill partner, only to be informed that only half of it was available on a Friday. I was assured that the remaining medication would arrive in the afternoon and could be delivered to us, as we urgently needed the morphine for the weekend to manage my partner's pain. However, four days later, we were still waiting for the promised delivery, leaving my partner without essential medication and forcing me to seek an emergency supply from the hospital.
To make matters worse, the pharmacy seemed unreachable as they consistently failed to answer their phone. This level of incompetence and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Instead of assisting customers, the staff were seen loitering around in groups, with one stout lady shadowing a taller blonde lady as if they were giving a tour to a customer. This chaotic and disorganized behavior is intolerable for a pharmacy that deals with palliative care patients. In my opinion, this pharmacy should be shut down and reported for their negligence. I will be lodging a formal complaint against them.

The staff at this pharmacy are absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful.
Judith Hayes (17/06/2025, 23:37):
I must say, it's been quite a disappointment visiting this pharmacy twice now. It seems like if you're a drug addict, you'll get served right away. There were four staff members behind the counter, yet none of them even bothered to see if I needed any assistance.
Henry Reynolds (14/06/2025, 12:51):
I must share my recent experience at our local pharmacy, where I typically have my repeat prescriptions filled. Last December, we faced a devastating flood in our household, which led to our insurance company temporarily accommodating us in a hotel located about 20 miles away. When I placed an order for my repeat prescription and drove to Sauchie to collect it, I was dismayed to find out that it wasn't ready. Despite the inconvenient situation we were in, I took a moment to explain our predicament to the kind lady assisting me. I mentioned that in order to pick up the prescription, we would need to embark on another 40-mile journey. Remarkably, even amidst a bustling day at the pharmacy, the woman who was tending to me took immediate action and promptly prepared my prescription on the spot to spare us from an unnecessary additional trip. Lindsay & Gilmour truly exceeded my expectations and demonstrated exceptional customer service on that particular occasion.

Always helpful and friendly, the staff at this pharmacy are top-notch and go above and beyond to assist. Thank you all for your dedication to serving the community. Husky

The staff at this pharmacy is absolutely fantastic – so welcoming and helpful.
Leonard Murphy (11/06/2025, 14:18):
The customer service at this pharmacy is absolutely dreadful. The staff are discourteous and the wait times are simply unacceptable. There are always people waiting outside in the rain, and even when you finally reach the front of the line and request your prescription, they haven't prepared it and claim to be "too busy" to do so, instructing you to come back the next day. It's best to steer clear of this pharmacy - it's undoubtedly the poorest in Clackmannanshire.
Janet Reynolds (10/06/2025, 22:06):
What a complete disaster, I got to the pharmacy around 12:35pm today and had to wait for about 5 minutes before someone even showed up. There were already 2 people inside and 2 others waiting outside, one of whom was clearly there for their methadone. When the elderly gentleman working there finally came to the door, I handed him my wife's prescription for her terrible back pain post-childbirth. By 1:00pm, I finally received the prescription only to be scolded by the same elderly employee for not arriving 30 minutes earlier since his "people" were working overtime. I left and got into my car, checking the time - it was exactly 1:01pm.
I have never encountered such a rude staff member, it's hard to show respect to our elders when they show no respect for our generation. He has no idea about my circumstances, there was a valid reason for not being there 30 minutes earlier. If I could rate this place 0 stars, I certainly would.
Ronald Cook (07/06/2025, 22:56):
I regret to inform you that at this time I am unable to answer the phone. Thank you for your understanding.
Olivia Davis (03/06/2025, 14:25):
Quite unprofessional, ya know? There were several staff members gossipin' among themselves while five customers were waitin' to be seen. It was a bit of a mess, if you ask me.
Terry Martin (03/06/2025, 11:45):
Absolutely dreadful customer service, they never answer their phones.
Russell Reed (28/05/2025, 02:54):
I've been trying to reach them for over 30 times (after waiting 2 days for a callback) in the past few days, but they haven't answered except once. And when they did pick up, they just put the phone right back down.
Shirley Cruz (22/05/2025, 14:36):
This chemist is absolutely dreadful, I must say. I've had the misfortune of using their services and every prescription I've requested hasn't been prepared when I arrive to collect it. The most recent incident involved an order placed on the 26th of December 2022, only to find out on the 9th of January 2023 that it still hadn't been made up. The gentleman with red hair at the counter is, without a doubt, the most impolite and unhelpful individual I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. His resolution was simply to cancel my prescription and direct me to another chemist. They are an absolute disgrace, I must say.
Sean Reynolds (20/05/2025, 07:04):
The staff was top-notch, always ready to lend a hand and highly proficient.
Rebecca Butler (19/05/2025, 02:00):
Lovely folks and a great pharmacy, but they never seem to pick up the phone. If you want to know if your prescription is ready, you have to make the trip in person. I'll probably have to switch pharmacies because this is quite inconvenient, you know.
Mia Price (17/05/2025, 06:34):
The staff at the pharmacy in Sauchie are just wonderful - always so friendly and helpful. They never seem to be too busy to offer assistance, and the pharmacist is truly lovely, always ready to provide valuable advice. Every time I drop by, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with smiling faces all around.
Timothy Fisher (16/05/2025, 22:51):
The staff at this pharmacy are extremely welcoming and helpful.
