Exploring Boots Pharmacy in Glasgow

Boots Pharmacy in Glasgow is a well-known establishment, providing a variety of pharmaceutical services and products to the community. However, customer experiences at this location have been mixed, with some praising the service while others express concerns about accessibility and service options.

Service Options and Accessibility

One key aspect of Boots Pharmacy is the accessibility for all customers. The pharmacy features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that everyone can access their services without difficulty. In terms of service options, customers can choose between in-store shopping and in-store pick-up for prescriptions and other items. However, there have been complaints about long wait times for prescription medication, with some stating it can take over 30 minutes despite staff being efficient.

Payment Methods Available

When it comes to payments, Boots Pharmacy accepts credit cards and provides options for NFC mobile payments. This ensures that customers can complete transactions swiftly and securely. Yet, some patrons have encountered issues with staff needing personal information repeatedly, causing frustration.

Delivery Services and Planning

Boots Pharmacy does offer delivery services, although there are concerns regarding their planning and flexibility. Customers have reported difficulties in having prescriptions delivered to alternative addresses when needed, particularly after hospital releases. It’s critical that pharmacies adapt their practices to meet customer needs and enhance satisfaction.

Customer Experiences

Customer feedback varies significantly. Many have praised the pharmacist, Julie, for her helpfulness and patience, particularly in advising on pediatric treatments. When she was awarded for her service, it highlighted the positive impact she has on the community. Conversely, other reviews describe experiences with rude staff and a lack of professionalism, indicating inconsistencies in the overall customer service experience.

Quick Visit Recommendations

For those planning a quick visit, it’s advisable to check if prescriptions are ready before arriving. Some customers expressed frustration over waiting for their medications, as the queue can become lengthy during busy hours. Despite this, many have noted that parking is available at Alison Car Park at the rear of the building, making it easier for those who drive.

Conclusion

The Boots Pharmacy in Glasgow offers essential services but has room for improvement in customer service and operational efficiency. While the store hosts an array of service options and payment methods, addressing customer feedback regarding wait times and staff attitudes could significantly elevate the experience for all patrons.

I gave the pharmacy a ring to seek some guidance, but the staff member on the other end seemed to be having a rough time, as she wrongly accused me of raising my voice at her. When I inquired if the call was being recorded, she said no, but then I realized the manager was listening in on speakerphone. What a complete fabrication and the most awful attitude - truly a prime example of abysmal customer service. That was the final straw for me, I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Definitely steer clear of this place like the plague.

The last time I visited, I was thrilled to learn that pharmacist Julie had received an award for her outstanding work. If I had been aware that we could vote for her, I would have certainly cast mine too. Julie is unfailingly patient with everyone, even during the hectic times I've visited, and has provided me with advice and treatment for my toddler on multiple occasions. The award was truly well-deserved! I hope it came with a well-deserved raise as well! :)

Lack of adaptability and problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected situations. Is it reasonable for a medication to be out of stock for 3 months without considering finding a new supplier? Absolutely inflexible when asked to deliver medication to a different address post-hospital discharge. No assistance or alternatives provided, showing a lack of initiative. The pharmacy staff seem incapable of independent thinking and fail to offer solutions. Every month, I provide my full address including postcode to the same pharmacist, without recognition of our regular interactions. They should update their practices and embrace more innovative and independent approaches.

I must say, the customer service at this establishment was rather lacking. I found the staff to be quite rude and short-tempered.

After waiting for a total of 6 days, my prescription was still not ready. I would strongly advise against using this pharmacy for prescription deliveries.
Judy Bennett (08/06/2025, 06:22):
It's fantastic to work with them, they are so accommodating.
Jack Graham (04/06/2025, 17:26):
Customer service was deplorable. The staff member assisting me lacked professionalism and courtesy. It was evident that she had no interest in being there or interacting politely with customers.
Logan Hayes (03/06/2025, 12:52):
Terrible customer service experience. Zero help provided, staff seemed unfriendly and gave off a very unwelcoming vibe. It almost felt like they were begrudgingly handing out their own personal stash of medication for free.
Arthur Morgan (02/06/2025, 09:40):
I've always received top-notch service from the entire team. Julie, the pharmacist, is incredibly helpful and always makes time to listen to my concerns.
Andrew White (30/05/2025, 21:47):
I must say, the lady who assisted me yesterday (Friday) was absolutely lovely. She was so helpful, friendly, and polite. However, the lady who answered the phone today (Saturday) was quite rude. It seems like they could use some telephone etiquette training over there. I explained politely that I had been told my prescription would be ready by 11, but it was already 12 and I just wanted to check if it was available for pickup. There was a long pause, and in a rather condescending tone, she responded, "uhuh... I can’t check if you don’t tell me who you are." All she had to do was ask, “Can I have your name please?” I’m not daft, I was waiting for her prompt to provide my details, which she failed to do. Remember, good manners don’t cost a thing.
Teresa Graham (27/05/2025, 12:11):
The staff at this pharmacy are absolutely wonderful - always ready to lend a hand and provide useful advice. The store is impeccably organized and laid out, making it easy to find what you need. And the best part? Plenty of free parking available at the back of the building. A truly convenient experience all around!
Jordan Rodriguez (25/05/2025, 20:57):
Greatly appreciated the assistance.
Isabella Ortiz (23/05/2025, 12:21):
The staff was quite unpleasant.
Ethan Brown (22/05/2025, 18:05):
Always polite and helpful, mate!
Richard Lopez (15/05/2025, 02:05):
The team is always very friendly and efficient, although the only issue arises when the pharmacist takes their lunch break, causing longer waiting times and unnecessary pressure on the staff.
Louis Johnson (15/05/2025, 01:41):
There's typically a line for picking up prescriptions, but it tends to move pretty fast, and the staff is quite efficient. It's important to bear in mind how busy they can get and the fact that they're dealing with that all day long, so everyone can have a bit of a rough day now and then.
