Exploring Asda Dunfermline Superstore: A Comprehensive Overview

Asda Dunfermline Superstore, located in Fife, presents a blend of great produce, clothing options, and varying service options for its customers. However, several comments from visitors reveal a mix of experiences that highlight both strengths and weaknesses of this supermarket.

Payment Options & Accessibility

One of the notable features at Asda is the variety of payment methods available. Customers can utilize credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments at checkout. Additionally, the store offers wheelchair-accessible entrances and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that all customers can access their favorite products without hassle. However, some reviews suggest a need for improved organization, particularly regarding customer service and the availability of staff during peak hours. Several shoppers have reported long waits at self-service checkouts, pointing out that they felt they were doing the job of the cashiers themselves.

Store Highlights and Offerings

Asda Dunfermline boasts a wide range of offerings, from groceries to household items. Many customers appreciate the store's in-store pick-up for online orders, although experiences have varied significantly. Some shoppers have noted issues with inventory, mentioning that certain shelves appear empty, which may diminish the shopping experience. Despite these drawbacks, many visitors still enjoy a quick visit to grab essentials. The food section is particularly praised for its selection of fresh items, although inconsistent stock levels have been a concern.

Customer Service Experience

The overall sentiment surrounding customer service at Asda Dunfermline has been mixed. While some customers received helpful assistance from staff members, others reported encountering rudeness and a lack of training among employees. One review stated, "Staff could do with some customer service training," highlighting incidents where customers felt dismissed or undervalued. Furthermore, the condition of the restrooms has been a recurring point of criticism, with numerous reports stating they were not well maintained. Cleanliness remains a key area needing improvement to enhance the shopper experience.

Sustainability Efforts: Recycling and More

Asda has been making strides towards sustainability, offering options for recycling glass bottles and other materials. However, customers have pointed out that more efforts are needed in this area, especially concerning the management of plastic products and recycling initiatives.

Conclusion: Room for Improvement

In summary, while Asda Dunfermline Superstore provides a comprehensive shopping experience with a variety of food and clothing options, it faces challenges in customer service and cleanliness. Enhancements in staff training, inventory management, and restroom maintenance could significantly elevate the shopping experience. As feedback suggests, many customers continue to weigh their shopping choices, balancing convenience with service quality. For now, it remains crucial for Asda management to address these concerns and improve overall customer satisfaction.

There was absolutely no hand sanitizer to be found anywhere in the store, the trolley carts were not sanitized and left to the customers to clean once inside the store, there was a complete lack of social distancing throughout the store. It was like a paradise for pandemics! Honestly, I will never be returning.
Andrew Lewis (14/08/2025, 06:22):
A splendid large store where one can stock up on groceries, pick out some new threads, and even grab a bite at McDonald's for a post-shopping treat.
Janet Morales (14/08/2025, 02:52):
Toilets are absolutely abominable. Filthy floors and toilet bowls overflowing with toilet paper. There's no posted cleaning schedule on the back of the door to inform customers about when the toilets are cleaned. This type of situation seems to be pervasive throughout this particular store, extending to other areas as well.
Zachary Perry (09/08/2025, 06:45):
They have a fantastic scan and go service that I frequently utilize. Just make sure not to arrive before 0800hrs as they haven't activated it yet at that time.
Emma White (04/08/2025, 07:37):
A wide array of products to choose from. The restrooms and amenities are usually kept tidy. However, my main gripe is the frequent lack of vegetarian/vegan wrap choices in the meal deal section.

I can't believe it! I went to ASDA right before midnight, and what do you know? The door was already locked at 23:50! Can you believe it?! Why doesn't ASDA just change their closing time to 23:50 and save their customers precious time and hassle? Unbelievable!
Diane Peterson (30/07/2025, 10:32):
With a wide selection and great prices, this spot is perfect for all your shopping needs. For those of you who reckon other Asda branches in different parts of Fife might offer better deals, why not head there instead? Save your criticisms for those stores instead.
Douglas Kelly (30/07/2025, 04:45):
Just popped into Asda to find some red towels, feeling rather festive, and ended up buying quite a few other things besides the towels. The store is well organized, with a wide variety of options, and the staff were absolutely delightful!
Sarah Torres (29/07/2025, 23:01):
I stopped by the supermarket on 23.5.24 and let me tell you, the men's restroom was an absolute disaster. It's been a good ten years since I've seen something so appalling. It really makes me question how they handle cleanliness and hygiene in other areas of the store. Ever since Covid hit, these supermarkets have been overcharging us, especially for fuel. This last visit was just too much for me, I've decided to take my business elsewhere from now on.
Cynthia Rivera (29/07/2025, 01:55):
The team on the shop floor is pretty good, but the management here is quite lacking. The toilets are honestly the worst I've seen in any large supermarket store anywhere! And good luck trying to find a basket when you walk in - half the time there aren't any available. Meanwhile, the managers are just standing around chatting instead of making sure things like that are taken care of.

The shelves are another story altogether. I could go on and on about that, but let's just say that our local competitors never seem to run out of basic items like this place does. Can you believe they even ran out of carrier bags for a whole week not too long ago?!

I'm not trying to bash Asda in general, just this particular store with its poor management. They don't seem to care about the state of the toilets, the availability of baskets, the stocked shelves, or even something as basic as carrier bags. It's a real challenge for them.

And don't bother telling me these comments will be passed along - send them straight up to regional management, because only they can fix the issues at this branch. Things just keep getting more ridiculous here. They recently rearranged the whole store layout, and now in mid August, the signage for a lot of items is still incorrect. It's a mess - like, who moves a bunch of products to new locations and leaves the old signs up? Only at ASDA DUNFERMLINE!

Honestly, this has to be the worst Asda store from Ayrshire to Glasgow to Edinburgh to Dundee.
Albert Morales (26/07/2025, 23:41):
The lavatories are absolutely vile, a matter of health and safety concern. The reek of urine hits you as soon as you step inside, making it nearly unbearable to even be in there. The floors feel sticky, and I was hesitant to touch anything due to how filthy it was. In fact, I am quite certain I contracted Covid from this very place. There is clearly no effort put into maintaining these facilities, so don't fool yourselves. AVOID at all costs!
Barbara Miller (25/07/2025, 21:05):
The hoover in the petrol station doesn't function at all, it simply takes the dosh and it's not appropriate to charge folks. Either swap it out or do away with the service altogether.
Gregory Ross (23/07/2025, 14:36):
There is quite a dangerous disparity in the level of pedestrian pathways outside the store (towards the east, next to the bus parking area). The inconsistency in levels among various walkway surfaces (approximately 3-4 cm) poses a tripping hazard, especially during nighttime.

The self-checkout software lacks user-friendliness, necessitating frequent intervention from the staff on duty. Consequently, several checkout lanes end up getting closed off because the management appears hesitant to assign adequate personnel to manage the full capacity of checkouts.

Overall rating based on evaluation of the UK branch of the world's largest food retailer.
Steven Johnson (23/07/2025, 07:06):
I escorted an elderly chap to pick up his online shop at the Supermarket. It's more cost-effective to shell out the additional £5 for delivery, plus it helps sustain employment opportunities for others.
Paul Price (21/07/2025, 07:02):
Asda supermarket is really top-notch, much better than your average Asda. It's massive, with a fantastic range of products, a welcoming atmosphere, well-arranged checkouts, and always spotless bathrooms.
Jordan Stewart (20/07/2025, 02:49):
My spouse just got back from the supermarket. He said the store was quite busy, with an astonishing amount of adults and older teens not wearing masks. Many older shoppers who were wearing masks looked worried and made comments about it. Surprisingly, nobody - not even the security at the door or the employees on the floor and at the checkouts - did anything about it. He mentioned that it was not a safe situation, not sensible at all, and definitely not up to standard.
Jeremy Alexander (18/07/2025, 20:28):
I travelled 20 miles for the flu shots that Asda advertised as available for purchase, only to be informed upon arrival that they had stopped administering them for the day. I would not have minded if there was a valid reason for this sudden halt, but being told that they had ceased due to the provider being tired from a day of giving shots is unacceptable. If they had posted specific times for the service, I could have understood. It appears that they simply stop whenever they feel like it. Disappointing service from Asda.
Philip Collins (18/07/2025, 15:27):
The Supermarket was well stocked with everything I needed all in one place. The ambience was delightful and the staff were very friendly. The prices were also quite reasonable.
Nathan Sanders (17/07/2025, 21:11):
You can make payment using cash, card, or contactless. They have an abundance of checkout counters available. The product variety is impressive. The ASDA superstore is top-notch, operating around the clock.
Charlotte Coleman (17/07/2025, 18:03):
It's a quarter to midnight and they've already shut up shop. They're meant to be open till midnight. It's not just me who's confused about what's happening. Other customers and folks arriving for the night shift were truly let down because of this situation.
