Welcome to Tesco Express in St Andrews

Nestled in the heart of St Andrews, Tesco Express on Market Street is an essential stop for both locals and visitors. This small yet well-stocked supermarket offers a range of food options, household essentials, and quick grab-and-go snacks, making it perfect for those planning a quick visit.

Amenities and Accessibility

Tesco Express ensures convenience for all shoppers. The store features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, allowing easy access for everyone. Additionally, it provides a wheelchair-accessible toilet, catering to diverse needs. Those looking to stay longer can enjoy the various on-site services, including recycling bins, enhancing sustainability.

Payment Options

For payments, Tesco Express accommodates various preferences, accepting both credit cards and debit cards. Shoppers can also enjoy NFC mobile payments for a smooth checkout experience.

Service Options and Customer Experience

Customer service at Tesco Express has received mixed feedback. Many appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, with comments highlighting excellent customer service. However, some patrons have expressed concerns about specific employees displaying rudeness. It's essential to recognize that while the store boasts great produce and a solid selection, encounters can vary based on individual staff members.

Product Offerings

The supermarket offers a broad range of offerings, from fresh food items to household necessities. While many enjoy the daily discount section, some customers find prices steep compared to competitors like Sainsbury's. Additionally, there are comments about certain product quality, particularly concerning the freshness of produce.

Shopping Experience

In-store shopping at Tesco Express is generally efficient, thanks to its well-organized layout and self-service tills. However, it can become overcrowded, especially with locals frequenting the store daily. During busy hours, shoppers may encounter long lines, which can detract from the overall experience.

Community Focus

Tesco Express aims to create an inclusive environment. It is recognized as an LGBTQ+ friendly space, and employees foster a welcoming atmosphere. However, several reviews suggest that improving staff training could enhance the overall shopping experience for everyone.

Conclusion

Overall, Tesco Express in St Andrews provides a convenient shopping solution with a variety of food and household products. Whether you’re grabbing a snack or stocking up for the week, this supermarket stands out for its accessibility and essential services. While there are areas for improvement regarding service consistency and product quality, it remains a staple in the community, especially for students and locals alike.

Bobby Stewart (06/09/2025, 03:17):
The prices may be a bit steep, mind you, but I must say that the lass with the dark locks at the self-service tills can be quite rude and unnecessarily abrupt. A pity, really, as the rest of the staff are ever so pleasant and obliging.
Amber Ortiz (05/09/2025, 20:42):
Aye, these stores be quite grand, they are.
Carl Hughes (02/09/2025, 12:34):
A tad bit smaller than the other stores 'round these parts, but it's the prime location and top-notch selection that sets this charming supermarket apart.
Sophia Adams (02/09/2025, 07:01):
This shop is constantly packed with locals, especially older ladies rudely grabbing the final loaf of bread from the shelves. The cashiers quickly throw your groceries without any regard for the items or the customer. There is no service for bagging your groceries after scanning, which is different from other countries.
Mary Morales (29/08/2025, 18:05):
The selection is quite adequate, and the prices are as convenient as ever since the rebranding of the Metro brand.
Thomas Graham (26/08/2025, 23:30):
Just popped into the store and, oh my days, the queue was proper short! Managed to slytherin and out in no time at all. Brilliant!
Sophia Adams (24/08/2025, 11:38):
Fantastic store hours, the employees are always incredibly helpful and cheerful.
Richard Morales (23/08/2025, 11:57):
It's a decent effort, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Rebecca Scott (21/08/2025, 07:48):
The staff at this supermarket are simply top-notch, always polite and helpful. A pleasant shopping experience overall!
Samantha Carter (21/08/2025, 03:06):
The variety here is impressive, stocking just about everything you could need. However, the prices may lean towards the steep side when compared to what you'd find at Morrison's.
James Gray (20/08/2025, 01:34):
Plenty of food products in stock, but I found it quite off-putting that self-service was the only choice available.
Louis Jackson (18/08/2025, 21:00):
It's quite peculiar that there's a shortage of plain yogurt on the weekends. What transpires in the days leading up to this? Are folks not prioritizing a healthier lifestyle then? Let's not rest until we've brainstormed some theories and conducted thorough research to shed light on this puzzling situation.
Patrick James (17/08/2025, 11:36):
Typical trip to the store with face coverings. Not overly busy.
Ethan Kim (15/08/2025, 14:00):
This bustling little store! It was so much better when it was a Tesco Metro. The rebranding to Express has led to fewer options and increased prices.
Jordan Hayes (15/08/2025, 11:03):
This establishment is always bustling with activity.
Rachel Morris (14/08/2025, 14:59):
Would have given 0 stars if possible... incredibly rude staff who wouldn't allow us in because we were only 5 minutes late to closing 😡😡😡...
Amelia Price (14/08/2025, 10:06):
I popped into the supermarket earlier today and had the misfortune of encountering the older lady manning the self-service checkout. I must say, her attitude was simply dreadful and she was quite rude. I do believe a lesson in manners wouldn't go amiss for her.
Debra Brooks (11/08/2025, 16:46):
Your usual Tesco supermarket, but a bit pricier compared to other nearby shops. Experienced some inventory shortages, reportedly due to issues with drivers.
Frank Moore (10/08/2025, 11:12):
Much cheaper than Sainsbury's which is just down the road, I must say! The staff are so lovely and helpful. They have a great variety of products. I especially enjoy their free from range. It's always a delightful experience shopping at this store.
Mary Jones (10/08/2025, 08:59):
Top choice for shopping in downtown St. Andrews, but the variety of products doesn't quite match up to your average Tesco store. Consequently, shopping here may be a tad more expensive.
