Experience at Boots Beauty Supply Store in Edinburgh
If you are looking for a comprehensive beauty supply store in Edinburgh, the Boots on Princes Street is a prominent choice. With a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, it aims to provide an inclusive shopping experience for all customers.
Planning Your Visit
Before heading over, it's vital to plan your visit. The store offers various service options, including in-store shopping and in-store pick-up. For those who prefer online shopping, Boots allows for NFC mobile payments and other convenient payment methods such as debit cards and credit cards. This flexibility ensures a quick visit for customers on the go.
Accessibility and Customer Experience
While the store boasts excellent accessibility features, customer experiences vary significantly. Some customers have reported feeling uncomfortable due to how staff interact with them. Instances of feeling watched or questioned about their intentions can tarnish the shopping atmosphere. It’s essential for the management to ensure that staff training includes a focus on customer comfort and respect.
Payment and Service Options
The checkout process has faced criticism as well; while many appreciate the self-checkout option, some find it frustrating when technology fails. Customers encountering issues with self-service technology have mentioned receiving inadequate support, which is unacceptable for a store of this caliber. Ensuring that qualified staff are available at self-service tills and within the store could alleviate these frustrations.
Delivery and In-Store Shopping
For those unable to visit physically, the Boots store also provides delivery options, making it easier for customers to receive their desired products at home. However, ensuring that popular items, particularly in the health and beauty range, are always in stock is crucial for customer satisfaction, especially during peak shopping seasons.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Boots beauty supply store in Edinburgh has the potential to be a superb shopping destination thanks to its extensive product range and helpful services. By addressing customer service issues and enhancing staff training, Boots can improve customer experiences, ensuring that every visit is a positive one. Whether you need cosmetics, personal care items, or advice from knowledgeable staff, Boots aims to cater to your needs while ensuring accessibility and convenience.

The staff at this beauty supply store are absolutely brilliant! I must give a special shoutout to the delightful Trinity for her exceptional service. And a big thank you to the lovely lady from Soap and Glory who assisted me with my photo inquiry. Plus, they've got some fantastic deals going on right now. Cheers!

My missus and I are on holiday in this neck of the woods, and she's been feeling under the weather. We popped into this establishment seeking advice and some remedies. Sadly, she took ill while waiting, but the staff were quite understanding (though it's a shame there wasn't a loo nearby for her to use - the security guard directed us outside, which wasn't ideal, but hey-ho).
I regret not catching their names, but the tall chap with the dark curly locks and the blonde pharmacist were absolute diamonds. Much obliged to you both. As soon as my wife felt a tad better, we dashed out of there. We're keeping our fingers crossed for a swift recovery. And a special thank you to you, Ms. Pharmacist, for your recommendation!

Oh my, these Boots are absolutely fabulous! The store attendants are so knowledgeable and recommended the perfect products for me. They even looked up promotion prices for me. Absolutely fantastic!

The lady at the cash register upstairs at the Pharmacy is absolutely brilliant. She's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I've visited a few times lately, and she's explained my different conditions and treatments very clearly. It's definitely worth popping in if you have minor issues.

I popped into the store earlier this afternoon and had a rather awkward experience. Whilst perusing the high-end section, a beauty advisor approached me. Politely declining her assistance as I was just browsing at that moment, I noticed her keeping an eye on me as I moved around. As someone who also works in retail, I understand the need to be cautious, but I wasn't behaving suspiciously at all. In fact, I simply touched one item on display before placing it back.
Subsequently, I selected an item to purchase and continued exploring with intentions of picking up a few more items I had spotted. However, the same woman approached me once again. I observed her monitoring my movements as I carried on browsing. When I picked up another item to buy, she approached me for the third time, this time offering a basket, despite me only holding two items. Politely declining the basket as I only had two items, I went to return one of them, only to see the same individual checking if I had indeed placed it back.
Feeling increasingly uneasy, I decided to leave as I was made to feel uncomfortable without cause. As a loyal Boots customer, I am disheartened to learn that patrons are treated in such a manner. Given that there were few customers in the store at the time, a more discreet approach to monitoring would have been preferable, rather than making me feel scrutinized. Due to this experience, the store missed out on a potential sale.

I popped into the chemist for a bit of guidance, and I must say the team there were just top-notch! They knew their stuff and sorted out my prescription without having to bother my GP. Hats off to the counter staff and dispensing team for getting my meds to me in no time. Great job!

Absolutely brilliant service on Saturday morning, 9/3/24, by the Pharmacy team. It was a bustling day, yet they greeted everyone with big smiles and engaging conversation. Much appreciated!☺️

I purchased a Revitive foot massager for £315 and received a reward card. I followed the instructions to register it, but when I completed the form and pressed the button, it wouldn't register. How can this issue be resolved?

I visited this Boots store in Edinburgh yesterday with the hope of a usual shopping experience. However, the reality was far from it and left me feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and utterly disappointed.
Upon using the self-checkout, I was surprised to receive a foreign banknote instead of a £10 note. I calmly approached a member of staff to explain the situation and inquire about exchanging it for the correct change.
Rather than being met with helpfulness or understanding, I was greeted with suspicion and a patronizing attitude. The cashier seemed to view me as if I were attempting to deceive them, insisting that I was not telling the truth — despite the error being solely attributable to their machine.
Subsequently, the cashier summoned the manager, and I had hoped for at least some empathy or a simple apology. Regrettably, the manager was equally impolite, aloof, and uninterested. Neither of them acknowledged the inconvenience I had faced, nor accepted responsibility for their system's error.
Leaving the store, I felt humiliated, disregarded, and profoundly incensed. For a reputable company like Boots, the level of customer service I encountered was wholly unsatisfactory.
I have no intention of returning to this establishment, and I strongly caution others against doing so. No individual should be treated in such a manner. Boots ought to be ashamed of their conduct.

I had a bit of a pickle just before hopping on my flight to Edinburgh - I accidentally broke my specs! Desperate for a fix, I swung by the local Optician, only to find it closed. Luckily, Patricks, one of the staff members, came to my rescue. He managed to repair my glasses in a jiffy, allowing me to make the most of my trip. His friendly demeanor, swift work, and no charge policy left me incredibly grateful. Top-notch service all around! I can't recommend them enough.

I 'ad a bit of a kerfuffle at this shop when they tried to charge me twice for a vaccine already paid for at another Boots. After kickin' up a fuss, they phoned the other branch and eventually sorted it out. But let me tell you, they made me feel like I was in the wrong! Save yourself the trouble and mosey on over to a different store, that's me advice to anyone lookin' to shop 'round here.
Charles Cook (12/07/2025, 06:39):
The staff at the prescription counter can be quite unpleasant and seem to believe they are above everyone else. I've encountered this behavior several times. It's so frustrating that I can't even give them one star! 😡
Kelly Flores (11/07/2025, 23:48):
Absolutely adore this store, especially their post-Christmas sales. Picked up some amazing deals yesterday and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service lady. The only downside is the self-service tech, which is decent when it's functioning properly. Show some love for your local retail scene and score yourself a steal. Cheers!

Really helpful experience at Boots while shopping for cosmetics for a wedding. I was a bit anxious when I realized it was self-checkout, as I'm not used to it. But, I decided to ask for help from a very kind gentleman. He scanned all my items, understanding and reassuring me throughout. His assistance made my shopping experience at Boots a delightful one.
Alice Reyes (07/07/2025, 12:30):
My partner and I were in the market for some gentleman's eau de parfum, and with the abundance of great deals on offer, we needed some guidance to determine the best option. Thankfully, our sales associate not only assisted us in making a decision but also took care of setting up my loyalty card and arranged for the eau de parfum to be delivered to our home since it was out of stock in the store. I regret not recalling her name, but she was incredibly helpful and kind. We were thoroughly impressed!
Deborah Martin (06/07/2025, 00:38):
Oh, what a delightful chap helped me and my darling boys pick out some sunscreen and serum for our faces. He truly made us all ecstatic with his exceptional service. 😉😉😉 He had recently moved in with his folks, so he knows his stuff. Take care!
Gary Myers (05/07/2025, 19:13):
This shop has certainly seen brighter days. While there are efforts underway to modernize the upper floor's interior, the diabetic food selection remains quite limited. The view of the castle is breathtaking and could easily be mistaken for a high-end dining spot.
Grace Henderson (05/07/2025, 04:23):
The experience of being intensely stared at by someone can be quite unsettling, and I definitely felt it during my visit to this store. The hefty security guard seemed to shadow me throughout the store, but I didn't feel intimidated, just thought he was a real unit (if you catch my drift by "unit").
Albert Ward (03/07/2025, 22:52):
I popped down to the chemist to grab an emergency script but got the full druggy treatment! Just moved to Edinburgh and still on the books with NHS England. When I requested my meds, the response was: 'I can only dish out a week's worth to tide you over,' to tide me over? Seriously? He probably hasn't got a clue how important this is for me! I don't care about RX or Token, no idea what they are and frankly, don't want to know! I flashed my med pack with my name and NHS app with my repeat script, and still nada!

Abi from Boots on Princes Street in Edinburgh did an amazing job shaping my eyebrows and grooming my face - absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much. Brigitte from Switzerland
