This was my first experience of its kind, and it occurred at the Boots pharmacy in New Kirkgate. When I arrived to collect my prescription, I encountered a particularly unpleasant encounter with a staff member at the counter. After requesting my prescription, she responded dismissively, remarking, "If your doctor sent it over this morning, it's going to take some time... we have to physically retrieve them. They don't just magically appear here." Her tone was both condescending and loud, leaving me feeling disrespected. Last weekend I came down with COVID and found myself unable to leave the house. Although I reside in Fife, I happened to be in Edinburgh at the time. Running low on essential medication with no way to make it back to Fife, I was in quite a predicament. However, thanks to the speedy service of Boots at New Kirkgate, I had my much-needed medication in hand within just 2 hours. I'm truly grateful for their assistance and would rate their performance a solid 5 stars.

Finding a top-notch pharmacy can be quite the challenge, and sadly, this one falls short in several aspects. The service is remarkably slow, the operations seem inefficient, and to add insult to injury, they close for lunch despite the presence of 9 staff members. Why they can't coordinate their lunch breaks like most other businesses is beyond me; it's downright absurd and goes against customer interests.

I made the journey during the lockdown to pick up a prescription. Google said you were open until 6pm. However, when I got there just after 5, the pharmacy was already closed. It felt like a wasted trip. It seems like they don't have much regard for their customers' well-being.

I would strongly advise against having your prescription filled at this establishment. I endured a grueling two-week wait for my medication, being told on four separate occasions that it would be ready the next day. The customer service was abysmal.
