Goldenacre Pharmacy & Travel Clinic: A Comprehensive Overview

Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Goldenacre Pharmacy & Travel Clinic offers a range of on-site services designed to cater to the health needs of the community. From prescription refills to essential health consultations, this pharmacy positions itself as a cornerstone of local healthcare.

Service Options Available

Goldenacre Pharmacy provides various service options to its customers. With both credit cards and debit cards accepted for payments, the pharmacy ensures that transactions are smooth and convenient. Additionally, for those who prefer modern payment methods, NFC mobile payments are available, allowing for quick and effortless purchases.

Delivery and Convenient Visits

For individuals unable to visit the pharmacy in person, delivery services may be an option, enhancing accessibility for all patients. The ability to get medications brought directly to your doorstep can make a significant difference in maintaining health, particularly for those with mobility challenges.

Furthermore, the concept of a quick visit is promoted at Goldenacre. The pharmacy strives to minimize waiting times while ensuring that each customer receives personalized attention, although experiences can vary significantly.

Customer Feedback: A Mixed Bag

While many customers appreciate the helpful staff and on-site services, some reviews indicate a disparity in service quality. Commendations often highlight friendly interactions and efficient handling of prescriptions, especially during busy seasons such as winter when flu vaccinations are in high demand.

Conversely, negative feedback often points to instances of rude and unprofessional staff interactions. Multiple reviews express dissatisfaction with how complaints are handled, leaving several customers feeling judged or dismissed, particularly regarding sensitive health issues.

Conclusion: A Local Pharmacy with Room for Improvement

Goldenacre Pharmacy & Travel Clinic embodies the dual nature of local healthcare services: while it offers vital on-site services and payment flexibility, the inconsistency in staff professionalism can detract from the overall customer experience. As the pharmacy continues to serve the Edinburgh community, addressing these concerns may help enhance its reputation and better meet the needs of its clientele.

Ashley Hayes (19/05/2025, 07:05):
AVOID THIS PHARMACY. UNPLEASANT AND UNHELPFUL STAFF!
The more experienced members of staff are extremely impolite and have no qualms about lying directly to customers. Upon contacting them after consulting my GP to send my prescription, a young-sounding lady assured me that she would make a note to call me once my medication arrived. She also mentioned that unlike other pharmacies, they do not send text messages as they are a family-run establishment that values its customers. I was reassured by this.
However, I never received a call for over a month. When I confronted them in person, the older staff member with silver, short hair who served me flat out denied ever promising a callback, dismissing it as misinformation from whoever I had spoken to before. She then claimed they couldn't have called me as they did not have my contact details, despite prescriptions clearly displaying this information. I had also provided my number to the lady on the phone. To make matters worse, she refused to provide me with part of my main medication, citing that it was over 20 days old. No alternative was suggested, and she continued to justify their policy of not calling customers.
One absurd excuse given for not contacting customers was the supposed additional cost to both the pharmacy and the NHS, which seemed illogical as having medication returned would incur higher costs for the NHS. It appears the pharmacy is benefiting from this situation, hence their lackadaisical approach.

I popped by this Pharmacy last minute to sort out my travel vaccines. The pharmacist was so helpful and friendly, and I got all the jabs I needed without breaking the bank. Cheers to them for making it a smooth experience!

I regularly encounter the pharmacist and the young lady at the counter to be extremely amicable. They are quite useful when it comes to prescriptions and coordinating with my GP practice.
