The Boots Pharmacy located in Glasgow has garnered a mix of reviews from customers regarding its service options and accessibility. This article aims to provide an insight into what you can expect during your visit.

Accessibility and Store Features

One of the notable attributes of this pharmacy is its wheelchair-accessible entrance. However, while the entrance is equipped for those with mobility issues, some customers have pointed out the lack of additional supportive features such as handrails, which could enhance accessibility further.

Quick Visits and In-Store Shopping

If you are planning a quick visit, be aware that wait times can vary significantly. While many reviews highlight the helpfulness of staff, others mention long queues, particularly during peak hours. Customers often appreciate when they can complete their in-store shopping efficiently, but experiences can differ greatly from one visit to another.

Prescription Services and In-Store Pick-Up

Boots Pharmacy offers prescription services, including in-store pick-up. Emily Reyes (02/06/2025, 03:29):
This Boots store is an absolute shambles! I had to wait a whopping 1 hour and 10 minutes for my prescription pickup, even though it was pre-arranged. With only 3 people allowed in the shop at once, the way they handle their service is laughable!
Joyce Campbell (31/05/2025, 23:12):
Always at your service, but can get quite occupied at times, so patience may be required.
Juan Bailey (31/05/2025, 14:28):
Oh dear, you never know what you'll find at the pharmacy. Customers of all kinds seem to wander in, particularly those struggling with addiction who spend their days lingering around, eagerly anticipating their next fix.
Stephanie Jordan (31/05/2025, 13:07):
The staff at this pharmacy is absolutely lovely. They are always willing to help and provide excellent customer service. Highly recommended!
Doris Coleman (30/05/2025, 15:35):
This Boots store lacks accessibility for disabled individuals. While they do have a push-button door, there are no handrails for support and no ramp for wheelchair users. This can make it difficult for those with disabilities to navigate the store easily.
James Hall (28/05/2025, 12:17):
This pharmacy is a top-notch spot for all your shopping needs. The wide range of products available makes it easy to find everything you need. I highly recommend it for all your pharmacy needs.
Angela Barnes (28/05/2025, 05:08):
The staff is absolutely delightful and always goes the extra mile to assist you😊 …
Justin Kim (27/05/2025, 07:34):
My GP transferred my prescription to this pharmacy on Wednesday 4th March. I phoned this morning at 10:30 to confirm if it was prepared for pick-up and was told yes. My spouse went there at 10:55 and was informed that it was not ready. When he raised his concerns, they mentioned that it still needed to be checked and would take 10 minutes. After inquiring again 10 minutes later, the pharmacist stated it would be an additional 5-10 minutes and that he just had to wait! I called him at 11:15 and he was still waiting. When he asked once more, he was informed that "they were busy"! Well, we are busy too, and having to wait 25 minutes to collect a prescription that I was informed was ready 50 minutes earlier is simply absurd!
Elizabeth Lee (23/05/2025, 13:30):
The shutters really encapsulate the essence of it all.
Logan Brown (23/05/2025, 12:50):
Prescriptions are always prepared within 48 hours and a notification text is received once they're ready. The entire team is delightful, and there are never any lengthy lines.
Leonard Barnes (21/05/2025, 00:53):
This pharmacy in Blantyre is an absolute nightmare. There are plenty of employees, but there's always a massive line. The staff seem to be aimlessly wandering around in a fog. I'd recommend steering clear if you can. If you can't avoid it, just make sure you're not in a rush! It's a complete disaster.
Larry Ortiz (20/05/2025, 16:33):
Fantastic spot to find everything you require, with top-notch service. I'll be sure to return!
Ruth Ramos (19/05/2025, 08:19):
I used to rate this place 5 stars, but recently, the queues have been quite long. They're implementing a new system where they order items for the next day, which isn't ideal if you need your prescription urgently. However, the staff remains friendly and helpful as ever.
Ella Perez (18/05/2025, 13:32):
I must say, the personnel at this establishment were rather uncouth.
Samantha Sanchez (18/05/2025, 08:32):
Absolutely brilliant service, I must say. The attention to detail and efficiency are top-notch. I highly recommend it!
Amy Ross (15/05/2025, 20:07):
I had a rather unpleasant experience with this pharmacy. I called in and they promptly disconnected the call and left the phone off the hook.
Richard Martinez (08/05/2025, 19:50):
Absolutely awful and ridiculously expensive. This place will likely go under like other overpriced stores on the high street.

I had to visit this pharmacy 4 times over 2 days to collect important prescriptions. Each time, there was a queue stretching 20-30 yards, with over 30 people waiting while they shut down for a whole hour for lunch! The staff are lazy and uncaring, showing no sense of responsibility or compassion for those who are frail, elderly, visibly unwell, or disabled. Couldn't they have taken a later lunch break to help clear the queue? They close again from 2-4. If Boots is representative of our frontline workers, we're in big trouble.
Isabella Nelson (08/05/2025, 19:26):
Great for prescriptions, mate!
Dennis Jackson (08/05/2025, 18:36):
The opening hours are convenient for most people's work schedules, as the pharmacy is open until 6pm on weekdays.

One thing that slightly bothers me about the pharmacy—and this seems to be a common practice among pharmacies, so I'm not deducting points for it—is the temporary closure of prescription dispensing between 1pm and 2pm for the pharmacist's lunch break.

Interestingly, this particular pharmacy sometimes deviates from this policy when they have two pharmacists working at once. In those cases, they stagger their lunch breaks and continue to dispense prescriptions during that hour.

While this may seem like a positive exception, it can be frustrating because it makes it hard to plan your visit. Should you wait or come back later? It's a bit unpredictable.

It's worth noting that despite the dispensing pause for prescriptions during lunchtime, you can still drop off a prescription or purchase over-the-counter items at any time. The restriction only applies to the actual dispensing of prescribed medications and certain locked medications that require pharmacist assistance, such as codeine.

Overall, it's a minor inconvenience that you may encounter, but it's best to assume that the 1-2pm dispensing break will be in effect. If you happen to be there during that time after visiting the doctor's office, it's a good idea to submit your prescription anyway. If they offer to serve you right away, consider it a pleasant surprise since you were likely expecting to return later or the next day.
Ronald Bailey (08/05/2025, 13:21):
I arrived today on 04/07/23 at 12:30 am, seeking guidance for a tablet from the most delightful and skilled pharmacist. It was truly the best customer service experience I have ever had. The service was so exceptional that I felt compelled to highlight it; it truly deserves recognition. I only wish I knew her name.

Additionally, the receptionist Zara was incredibly pleasant and kind, reassuring me that the wait wouldn't be long. Every customer that arrived received service with a warm smile.

What an amazing team! Both of them deserve immense recognition for going above and beyond for every customer.
