Tesco Pharmacy in Inverness: Accessibility and Services

The Tesco Pharmacy located in Inverness is meant to serve the community with a variety of healthcare services. However, feedback from customers presents a mixed picture regarding its accessibility and overall service quality.

Accessibility and Wheelchair-Accessible Car Park

For those needing accessible options, Tesco Pharmacy features a wheelchair-accessible car park. This amenity is crucial for individuals with disabilities or mobility issues who require easy access to essential medication. However, there have been numerous complaints about the facility's overall service, particularly regarding in-store pick-up of prescriptions.

Poor Customer Service and Planning Issues

Many customers report experiencing significant difficulties when attempting to collect their prescriptions. Instances of being told to return later or finding that prescriptions were not ready are common. One dissatisfied customer recounted having to consecutively visit the pharmacy before finally receiving their medication. This inconsistency raises concerns about the pharmacy's planning and management of prescriptions.

On-Site Services and Service Options

The service options at Tesco Pharmacy may include basic over-the-counter medications, but many customers feel that the staff lacks the professional expertise needed to provide adequate advice on specific medications. This gap in service is especially troubling for those who rely on pharmacists for guidance on medication differences and effects.

Delivery and Recycling Options

While delivery and recycling of batteries and other items may be available, feedback indicates that the pharmacy may not effectively communicate these options to the public. Residents have expressed frustration over the lack of information on whether medications are available for delivery, which could greatly benefit those with mobility issues or those living in isolation.

Quick Visit Turned Frustrating Experience

Despite the pharmacy's intent to provide a quick and efficient service, many visitors found that their experiences often turned into lengthy and frustrating occasions. Customers have voiced complaints about long wait times, unresponsive phone lines, and frequently incorrect opening hours. These issues culminate in unnecessary trips, leaving many feeling that the pharmacy does not prioritize their needs.

Conclusion

Tesco Pharmacy in Inverness has the potential to be a vital health resource for the community but currently faces numerous challenges regarding customer service and prescription management. With a heightened focus on improving accessibility, communication, and staff training, this pharmacy could better serve its clientele and improve its reputation within the community.

Alexander Brooks (18/07/2025, 05:16):
This Tesco store was quite standard, with the usual array of products stocked. I didn't encounter any issues finding what I needed, as the shelves were well-stocked. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful in assisting me locate items. My only minor inconvenience was related to the placement of the free from range. It would have been more convenient if all these products were grouped together in a designated aisle. Instead, I had a bit of a challenge navigating through the store to locate them, sometimes finding them mixed in with other non-free from foods. This made my shopping experience a bit confusing and difficult. Despite this, overall, it's a great Tesco store.

This pharmacy is pretty much like any other pharmacy you'd find inside a supermarket. They carry all the essentials, but what they seem to lack is the expertise to properly guide customers on the varying qualities of the medications they offer.
Jerry Robinson (14/07/2025, 17:31):
Greetings, just a quick heads up that the operating hours at our Pharmacy may vary daily. Thank you for your understanding!
Lawrence Sanders (06/07/2025, 15:06):
If they're closed, they ought to update their online information to reflect that. It's already challenging enough to reach a pharmacy on the weekend without squandering time at places that claim to be open online, only to find them closed upon arrival.
Dorothy Cruz (04/07/2025, 21:27):
I must say I was truly disappointed with the customer service at this pharmacy. It seemed like I had to make several trips just to obtain a single prescription, being constantly told to return later or next time. It reached a point where I had to emphasize the urgency of the situation and stress how crucial the medication was for my father. Their text notification service was not functioning as it should. On numerous occasions, they claimed they didn't have the prescription on file, but after requesting them to double-check their emails, they miraculously located it. Since switching to another pharmacy, I've experienced no issues whatsoever. I would strongly advise against using this pharmacy; if given the choice, opt for an alternative establishment.
Christine Clark (03/07/2025, 20:58):
I very rarely pick up the phone.
Carl Reyes (26/06/2025, 20:52):
Oh blimey, mate! The pharmacy never picks up the phone, I tell ya. I'm disabled and can't get about, so I need to call before I trek all the way there just to find out my prescription isn't sorted. But they never answer! I've been ringing 'em more times than I can count every day for a whole week now, and still no luck. It's crucial meds I've been without for a week already. And let me tell you, they've got quite the reputation for losing scripts and denying they've got 'em when the docs have uploaded 'em into the system. Bit of a nightmare, really.
Noah Collins (22/06/2025, 07:16):
The website does not have the correct opening/closing times listed, and there is no answer when calling for the signed-up repeat prescription service. This lack of response is particularly concerning for vulnerable individuals who are trying to inquire about their GP-generated prescriptions. Not being able to confirm if their medications are ready for collection can result in wasted trips, potential exposure to viruses due to incorrect information on the website, and the need for additional visits to collect potentially unprocessed prescriptions.
Debra Smith (18/06/2025, 21:58):
Excellent service received at the pharmacy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
Chloe Long (18/06/2025, 17:30):
I would like to kindly point out an inconsistency in the advertised operating hours of the pharmacy. The sign both online and on the notice board states that the pharmacy is open from 8am to 8pm; however, upon visiting twice, I have found the pharmacy to be closed at 7pm. This has led to two wasted journeys on my part. I kindly request that the correct operating hours be updated to avoid further inconvenience. Thank you.
Lauren Howard (18/06/2025, 05:14):
The employees are quite impolite and seem to have little understanding of the medications being prescribed. I will be staying loyal to Boots from now on. At least their staff members are properly trained pharmacists.
Roy Butler (12/06/2025, 17:11):
The website proclaiming its doors open until 8pm, along with the sign proudly displayed on their establishment echoing the same sentiment, yet here I stand outside at 5pm greeted by locked doors. This is now my second journey in as many days to retrieve my repeat prescription, which should have been prepared over a week ago. Adding insult to injury, a notice chastising patrons not to mistreat the staff hangs prominently. If they simply adjusted their operating hours signage to reflect reality, perhaps frustrations like mine could be avoided.
William Peterson (12/06/2025, 13:46):
I did receive my medications, but the customer service left much to be desired.
Ronald King (06/06/2025, 23:01):
Frequently understaffed. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your prescriptions.
Doris Simmons (05/06/2025, 05:07):
I must say, the service at this pharmacy is simply dreadful. The pharmacist and their team make you feel like a criminal just for requesting a pack of paracetamol/codeine. I highly recommend steering clear of this establishment, as it is evident that your well-being is not their top priority.
Matthew Edwards (30/05/2025, 05:45):
Oh my, what a dreadful experience at the chemist! My husband was suffering from sciatica and needed some Nurofen Plus. I must say, I was grilled with questions by the staff and to top it off, they refused to sell me the medication in the end! Definitely steer clear of that place, mate!
