Exploring Tesco Superstore in Aberdeen

Tesco Superstore, located in Aberdeen, is known for its wheelchair-accessible entrance and ample parking options, including a wheelchair-accessible car park. The store aims to promote accessibility for all customers, ensuring everyone can enjoy their shopping experience.

Store Offerings and Highlights

While Tesco typically boasts a variety of offerings such as great produce, it has faced criticism during adverse weather conditions. For instance, a recent storm left shelves devoid of essential items like vegetables, fruit, and bread. Despite its reputation as a leading UK supermarket chain, some customers have noted that competitors like Lidl consistently stock the basics, highlighting a downside for Tesco. Customers appreciate the quick visit capability at Tesco, thanks to efficient layout and self-service checkouts. However, complaints about staff behavior, particularly during busy times, indicate a need for improvement in customer service. Instances of rudeness have marred the shopping experience, leaving some feeling undervalued despite the store's amenities.

Customer Services and Payment Methods

Tesco Superstore offers various payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments for a hassle-free shopping experience. Customers also benefit from convenient no-contact delivery and in-store pick-up services. Yet, challenges arise with home delivery; there have been reports of late deliveries and issues with quality control of products, such as expired food items.

Facilities and Amenities

Patrons will find essential amenities like a toilet and a wheelchair-accessible toilet within the store, which are well-maintained. Furthermore, Tesco promotes sustainability through efforts in recycling plastic bags. Despite providing many necessary services, feedback suggests that improvements are needed in product availability and staff training. Several shoppers have voiced concerns over staff engagement, particularly at checkout points where interactions could enhance the customer experience.

Inclusivity and Community Engagement

The Tesco Superstore is known for being LGBTQ+ friendly, supporting a diverse community. However, incidents of discrimination and the presence of unruly youths have prompted discussions on maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all customers, including a transgender safe space initiative.

Conclusion

In summary, while Tesco Superstore in Aberdeen provides a comprehensive range of food and other household essentials, it's clear that attention to customer service and product management is essential for improving the overall shopping experience. With its free parking lot and easy access, it remains a convenient option for many, but enhancing staff training and ensuring stock reliability are critical steps for future success.

So, my lad goes and points at the scratch card, and what happens? I get turned down from buying one. Absolute nonsense, right? Like, obviously, a kid ain't gonna claim any winnings if they happen to strike it lucky. I can just order a scratch card online anyway. Why make such daft rules, eh?
Ann Alexander (21/06/2025, 10:06):
The team at the store are absolutely fantastic and incredibly helpful, even after they've clocked out for the day.
Edward Lee (20/06/2025, 13:15):
I've noticed that a lot of the markets in Aberdeen are quite large, but they seem to have a limited range of products available. There is a good variety, but I find that there is a shortage of healthy options, particularly when it comes to delicious non-GMO fruits and vegetables.
Amelia Kelly (18/06/2025, 12:54):
Got what I needed, everything was there with a wide variety of options to choose from.
Janet Sanchez (16/06/2025, 22:58):
Absolutely smashing, I must say!

I popped over to return a microwave that I purchased from Tesco just 10 days ago, still in its original packaging and box. I made sure to give it a good wipe down before placing it back inside. However, to my surprise, they refused the return on the grounds that it appeared to have been used. The customer service lady was rather impolite and seemed unhelpful from the outset. I've never encountered such a negative experience with Tesco at any of their stores before. This was certainly a first for me.
Austin Baker (15/06/2025, 07:00):
Just like Tesco, but they're too far away, innit?
Billy Martinez (14/06/2025, 22:51):
Lovely supermarket, perfectly situated for Summerhill.
Bradley Turner (14/06/2025, 15:13):
I popped over to score some new threads, but alas, they were fresh out of my size. I inquired about placing a special order, only to be told it was a no-go since Tesco Direct bid adieu. Can you even believe it? The top dog of UK supermarkets and yet, unable to place an order for goods. It's utterly daft, isn't it? Most any ol' clothing shop would happily oblige, but not our beloved Tesco. Oh dear, what a missed opportunity!
Barbara Ross (13/06/2025, 16:07):
I decided to give the delivery service a go for my dear old mum's groceries. Imagine my surprise when she opened her package today, on the 17th of May, only to find a bag of carrots with a use-by date of the 17th of May 2020... Fresh products, you say? Yeah, right.
Samantha Jenkins (12/06/2025, 15:03):
A most delightful establishment to peruse, boasting a vast array of wares.
Amanda Henderson (09/06/2025, 18:58):
If I were to grant this establishment a rating, it would likely be zero stars. The employees present there are quite the joke, particularly the night staff. Most of the day staff are decent, but the issue lies with those on the night shift. There's a security guard, who happens to be bald, and all he seems to do is flirt and chit-chat with the staff, neglecting his duties. Moreover, he appears to have a rather unpleasant attitude.

When utilizing the self-checkout, the attendant is often engrossed in their phone or engaged in conversation with a colleague, causing delays when assistance is required. Even during daylight hours, it is not uncommon to spot an employee wandering around with their face buried in their phone, oblivious to their surroundings. Whether they are on break or not, this lack of attentiveness reflects poorly on the establishment.

On occasion at the self-checkouts, you may encounter a group of staff simply loitering and chatting, making it awkward to approach and complete your transaction.

Furthermore, they have a tendency to close shop 15 to 5 minutes prior to the officially stated closing time of 12 am. Despite citing a desire to avoid late-night large shopping trips, the premature closure does not cast the company in a favorable light.
Sarah Phillips (07/06/2025, 12:02):
I just found out that the conditioner is only 2.50 at Tesco, but it's a steal at 0.99 at Home Bargains! And don't get me started on the AAA batteries - 5.00 for 8 at Tesco vs 4.00 for 12 at Home Bargains. Looks like I'll be making a trip to my local Home Bargains soon! #bargainhunter #savvyshopper
Shirley Russell (06/06/2025, 17:46):
Aye, the shelves may be full but what a sight they are! It seems clear that the standards have taken a tumble, haven't they been trained in the art of presentation? If it's this sloppy in here, I can see why other folks have complained about the staff attitudes and lack of service. Not good enough, Tesco, pull yourselves together!
