Exploring Morrisons Supermarket in Glenrothes

Morrisons located in Glenrothes is not just a typical grocery store; it's a vibrant community hub that caters to diverse needs. With an accessible entrance for wheelchairs and a spacious parking area, including designated spots for disabled customers, it promises a comfortable shopping experience for everyone.

Product Offerings

The supermarket boasts a wide array of great produce, ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables to high-quality meats at the butchery counter. Customers appreciate the separate counters for fishmonger, baker, and deli items, providing personalized service that enhances the shopping experience. Many have highlighted the fantastic deals on drinks and other essentials, particularly when utilizing their store card for payments.

A Unique Shopping Experience

Morrisons is known for its NFC mobile payments, allowing for quick transactions with debit and credit cards. This feature streamlines the checkout process, making visits more efficient, especially during busy hours when crowds gather. However, some shoppers have noted that staff availability at the tills can sometimes lead to longer wait times, which could be improved by increasing the number of personnel during peak hours.

Community and Inclusivity

The supermarket strives to create a welcoming atmosphere, being LGBTQ+ friendly and offering support for all members of the community, including a transgender safe space. This commitment to inclusivity is evident in its customer service, with many praising the friendly and polite staff who enhance the shopping experience.

In-Store Amenities

For those looking to grab a quick bite, the onsite cafe offers a variety of meals, though experiences can vary. While some customers enjoy the delicious food options and value for money, others have expressed concerns about service delays and the cleanliness of the dining area. Despite these inconsistencies, many appreciate the overall convenience of having toilets and a wheelchair-accessible toilet on the premises, which add to the accessibility of the store.

Sustainability Efforts

Morrisons has made strides towards sustainability by encouraging recycling and reducing plastic waste, offering plastic bags for a minimal fee. They also promote the use of no-contact delivery and in-store pick-up services, ensuring that customers have multiple options for obtaining their groceries.

Conclusion

The Morrisons in Glenrothes presents a mix of diverse offerings, essential amenities, and a community-focused approach. Though there are areas for improvement, particularly regarding staff availability and some service aspects, it remains a popular choice among locals. Whether you're popping in for a quick visit or planning your weekly grocery shop, Morrisons has something for everyone, making it a reliable option in the heart of Glenrothes.

The staff are quite friendly and helpful. They have a decent selection of products, with prices that are okay - not always the best, but they often have some good deals. I particularly like their fresh in-store bread, butcher, and fish. However, the aisles can get quite crowded and the checkouts tend to be on the slower side.
Rebecca Hughes (18/05/2025, 05:34):
I bought a product on sale, returned the next day to buy it again, still displayed on the shelf for £18 but was charged £22 at the register. When I inquired, I just got a shrug and was told that flavor was no longer on sale. It was not clearly marked and shouldn't have been out on the shelf! I felt too embarrassed to put it back!
Hannah Ortiz (12/05/2025, 08:36):
I must say, this supermarket is quite decent. It always seems to be well-managed, clean, and with staff that are quite polite. Parking is always a breeze as the car park is a good size. It's also conveniently close to other stores, making it easy to just walk over and leave the car behind.
Roy Hayes (11/05/2025, 15:35):
The pizza toppings are dwindling by the day. Hardly sufficient for a single diner. Tight-fisted Morrisons is scrimping on their customers... come on Morrisons, that's not even worth £1.50, let alone £3.50. What a disgrace. Come on folks, let's refrain from purchasing any more of them.
Justin Hayes (10/05/2025, 15:14):
Great quality food at affordable prices, with a warm and welcoming team. The atmosphere is laid-back and there is ample parking available. The cafe offers a wide selection of delicious food and drinks. Don't forget to stop by the small cafe at the entrance for some tasty cakes and hot beverages.
Daniel Coleman (09/05/2025, 14:28):
Later in the day, you might find the shelves a bit bare, which can be quite frustrating. However, the fish and meat sections are top-notch. The checkout staff are always friendly and willing to assist. It's great that they open up another register when the lines begin to grow.
Steven Hughes (08/05/2025, 00:01):
I absolutely adored it. However, I found it rather perplexing to navigate my way out... didn't end up purchasing much, just popped in during my break.
Timothy Kelly (07/05/2025, 03:25):
On Sunday, December 18th, the car park was as slippery as an ice rink at 10 am. There were no carts near the doors or in the nearby cart corrals. I had a lukewarm breakfast that was quite disappointing, to say the least.
Christina Ford (06/05/2025, 15:50):
I am currently shopping here, unless I can't find what I'm looking for. No complaints, the shelves are well-stocked, and the staff is very helpful. As I have a disability, I sometimes struggle to see or reach certain items that I need. Thank you.
Harper Harris (06/05/2025, 01:52):
No shopping cart, asked at the customer service counter and was told to retrieve my own from the parking lot.
Ronald Ortiz (03/05/2025, 23:57):
I popped into the cafe hoping for a hearty breakfast, but was disappointed to find out that they have switched to QR code ordering with little human interaction. The food was decent, although the menu has been scaled back. I personally prefer other dining options in Glenrothes. Cheers!
Emma Hamilton (30/04/2025, 12:29):
The selection of gluten-free and dairy-free products is quite disappointing. The overall assortment is lacking, and the prices are significantly higher compared to Aldi or Lidl. For instance, £2 for only 12 slices of chicken is quite steep.
The store itself, formerly a Safeway, is clearly showing its age with stains all over the floor.
Randy Flores (30/04/2025, 01:11):
I've noticed that at the petrol station, many of the self-service pumps seem to be out of order. It makes me wonder if they do it on purpose to encourage customers to go inside and potentially make additional purchases.
Ann Brown (28/04/2025, 09:29):
The store had everything I needed. The prices for the groceries and beverages are about the same as any other place. The staff is always courteous and helpful.
Eugene James (24/04/2025, 06:42):
Great spot to check out with prices that won't break the bank like other stores. Loads of parking spots available and a petrol station with some pretty fair prices too.
Pamela Bennett (23/04/2025, 22:56):
I popped into the café at Morrisons today, and I must say I was quite disappointed. The tables were all quite dirty, and this new ordering system via phone to your table is rather confusing. The staff didn't seem very knowledgeable about it either. We ordered two coffees, but only one arrived. When we inquired about the missing coffee, we were simply told it was on its way. This establishment really needs some improvements!
Donald Rivera (23/04/2025, 00:02):
During these challenging times, I was surprised to find a lack of trolleys available in the store. Additionally, the car park was poorly maintained and there was no milk or bread in stock. Given the current weather conditions, it seems like the store would have anticipated a high demand for bread.
Austin Gonzalez (22/04/2025, 16:47):
No tills are open from 6 pm onwards! Having to self-check £300 worth of shopping is a very slow and stressful ordeal that requires assistance from staff on more than a dozen occasions! Staff are scarce and seem very stressed. Shelves are very messy. Morrison needs to do better. I won't be back unless they open the checkouts back up after 6 pm!
Deborah Hughes (22/04/2025, 05:00):
You can find everything you need in one place, all at great prices. And don't forget the extra perk of getting 5p off per litre on fuel!
Sara Cook (22/04/2025, 00:43):
I do quite fancy the bakery area. The store's fresh layout is rather pleasing. I find it quite grand for acquiring fresh fish. I've recently taken a liking to purchasing Turkey off the bone. The staff members are ever so helpful and amiable. It might not be the most economical choice for shopping, but one does receive vouchers based on the amount spent, and the food quality is top-notch. Occasionally, I indulge in the restaurant, as it offers good value for the money. Parking is a breeze, and I am rather content being a patron.
