Oh, it was quite the unpleasant experience, I must say! I found myself in a rather perplexing situation at the supermarket, you see. A lovely Indian lady requested to see my ID when I attempted to purchase some alcohol - can you believe it? And here I am, nearly 37 years young! Naturally, I turned to those around me and inquired, "Do I appear to be under 18?" To my dismay, the resounding answer was a firm "NO!" It became apparent that this lady, despite her petite stature, held a considerable amount of authority. She promptly deduced that I did not possess my identification, resulting in the refusal of my alcohol purchase. Utterly preposterous, I dare say! I bear no resemblance to a teenager, yet she remained resolute in her decision. What a truly regrettable encounter with such a disagreeable individual. Not amusing in the least, just plain nonsensical, wouldn't you agree?

My top supermarket choice, innit. The prices are fab, especially when they have smashing deals on seasonal bits. The cafe is proper good for brekkie, lunch, or a cuppa. Massive car park with a petrol station and even a Timson's. Bus stop right outside the store. This place is the bee's knees.
Walter Lewis (02/09/2025, 13:31):
The staff were quite friendly, except at the kiosk where several members of staff seemed dispondant and plain rude. They preferred to ignore customers, especially when talking to family or friends. I waited in the queue for 15 minutes while staff chatted with friends and family. Similarly, I waited in the customer service area and was blatantly ignored despite asking for help several times. The staff were busy chatting about their weekend. Orders made at the cafe were served promptly. However, the layout is a little disorganised and not all aisle descriptions are clear. There is a good selection of fruits and vegetables, although sometimes they are running low on meat and poultry. The availability of Nutmeg clothing and homeware was disappointing. DO NOT GO INTO THE TOILETS. Overall, the supermarket has the basics but is not great. I much prefer the Morrisons at the waterfront, even though it's further away. They have very friendly and helpful staff, a good selection of almost everything, and it's very clean.

Though lunchtime hits like clockwork every day (just a hair off from being perfectly synchronized), there never seems to be ample staff at the registers (some of which may even be closed) or at the self-checkout kiosks (often just a solo attendant). It boggles the mind as to why they can't rally more troops for the tills. Aside from that, the prices are fair, the selection is solid, although I find the store layout a tad peculiar.
Jeremy Torres (31/08/2025, 19:19):
Absolutely dreadful fish 'n' chips at the cafe, completely overcooked and practically inedible! One of the staff members was quite rude to customers. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Morrisons really need to step up their game in this aspect of what otherwise appears to be a decent supermarket.
Sarah Garcia (29/08/2025, 00:37):
I recently visited a super spacious supermarket that wasn't overly busy. I was pleasantly surprised to find a butcher counter, a fishmonger counter, and even a petrol station with a hand car wash on site. It was a convenient one-stop shop for all my needs!
Jeremy Roberts (29/08/2025, 00:35):
Only 2 tills open for a store this size is quite disappointing. Had to queue 4 people back in the aisles.
Roy Scott (27/08/2025, 06:33):
Just strolled into the cafe after a hospital visit at the Western General for a breakfast roll. The customer service from the lovely lady staff with a smile has truly brightened my morning. Much appreciated!
Ethan Ward (26/08/2025, 08:27):
The variety of products was decent, but I must say the fresh lamb selection wasn't up to par. Couldn't find any good lamb leg steaks, quite disappointing really.
Andrew Carter (26/08/2025, 05:35):
Today was an absolute nightmare for me as I experienced blatant racism at this store. I feel so unwelcome whenever I shop there. The moment the staff hears me speaking in an Indian language and sees my skin color, their attitude turns cold and disrespectful. Morrison's, your employees should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
Zoey Thomas (26/08/2025, 04:37):
Top-notch service! The staff is friendly, helpful, and always looking sharp. The store is clean and neatly organized. My only gripe (which seems to be a common issue with most supermarkets in the area) is the constant shifting of product placements, leading to wasted time walking back and forth in the store. I understand the strategy behind this tactic, aimed at tempting shoppers to make impulse purchases, but it can be quite frustrating for us regulars.
Wayne Thomas (25/08/2025, 05:46):
I absolutely adore Morrisons, especially their baby clothes line, Nutmeg. The quality is top-notch, and I particularly love the variety of color shades they offer (I am rather particular about this as some stores have quite dull shades). Recently, I purchased a freshly baked lemon cake at Morrisons, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The taste was exquisite!
Marilyn Patterson (24/08/2025, 04:36):
Outstanding customer service from Lewis in the alcohol section. The particular wine I was after was not available, but this chap really went above and beyond to assist in the search. I made sure to praise him to his manager right then and there, that's what I call true customer service. Big thanks, Lewis :)
Bryan Allen (21/08/2025, 14:35):
Morrisons is just right for me with a lovely building.
Allison Ward (18/08/2025, 03:46):
I must say, as a supermarket, it's decent. However, the restaurant aspect leaves much to be desired. They have a tendency to close early without any prior warning. I've been given reasons like "shortage of staff," "we can close whenever we want," and even "we ran out of ingredients" (in a supermarket, of all places, haha). The tables are rarely cleaned after each customer, leaving them quite dirty. I've had to speak up about tables not being cleared, making it hard to find a place to sit. I suppose that's due to the staff shortages! And don't get me started on the lack of trays available. Being a local, I frequent this place often, and these issues have been persisting for a while despite my attempts to address them with management. On the bright side, after I complained about the absence of baskets at the entrance, suddenly, a bunch of new ones appeared - so I guess they do listen occasionally. It's a shame about the restaurant though. With just a bit more attention to detail, it could vastly improve the overall experience.
Albert Price (17/08/2025, 07:16):
In my humble opinion, Supermarket remains the top pick for grocery shopping. However, I was rather disheartened to find out that the café no longer offers the scrumptious Scottish breakfast it used to. The quality seems to have diminished, with most ingredients being just average.
Alexander King (14/08/2025, 18:36):
Had a jolly good shopping experience last week at the supermarket. A charming young chap named Darren (a ginger lad) was ever so helpful and assisted me in selecting the perfect cheese for my tea party with my old bowling gal pals. Cheers to Darren for his splendid service!
Zachary Rodriguez (10/08/2025, 10:20):
The supermarket always seems to be running low on a variety of items, and it takes quite a bit of time for them to restock! The inventory is not reliable either, as they frequently switch up the products which can be quite frustrating. The employees, particularly the cashiers, could definitely pick up the pace as well – the wait times can be rather lengthy at times!
Paul Green (08/08/2025, 22:32):
Regrettably, I experienced subpar service while visiting the petrol station due to a staff member behind the counter being rather impolite about refueling on the opposite side of the petrol cap. I had a challenging day after visiting the Western Hospital, and her suggestion was to exit and re-enter from the "correct side." I was under the impression that you could fuel from either side since the cable is long enough to reach. Additionally, I wasn't obstructing any passing traffic as I was in the outer lane. Disappointing experience overall.
Christine Harris (07/08/2025, 23:36):
Had a bit of a mixed experience at this supermarket. Popped in for a quick shop before a hospital appointment and found the shopping to be really good. However, when I went to the cafe hoping to grab a quick scone or sandwich, they were unavailable. Settled for a muffin instead. The lady at the till seemed very overworked, as we had to wait about 5 minutes to be served as she was also responsible for taking hot food to the tables. Luckily, I had some change on me as she seemed to be short on it. While enjoying our muffins, the same lady was also clearing tables. I hope she is well compensated for her hard work!
On our way out, we stopped by the toilets which were quite disappointing. They were smelly and littered with rubbish. My wife mentioned that the ladies' toilets were in a similar condition. It seemed like they hadn't been cleaned or inspected since 10 am, despite it being 1:30 pm when we visited. Very disappointed with the state they were in. Doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.
