Usually a smashing spot to do me shopping, but the travelators were all out of order and cordoned off. The only way to reach the upper floor was through a dinky lift. Despite the store not being too crowded, the line for the lift was absolutely massive. Furthermore, the store was unexplainably sweltering. When inquiries were made about the heat, the staff appeared rather disinterested.

Absolutely dreadful experience at this supermarket.
They had only 2 checkouts open, resulting in a wait of over 20 minutes to complete your purchase.
The store seems to be pushing all customers towards using the self-service checkouts for both small basket shops and larger trolley shops.
If you're looking to make a quick trip, I would highly recommend avoiding this ASDA store.

Terrible store for home delivery. They were 14 hours late and only delivered half of my £150 shopping order. I had to make multiple phone calls and encountered a bad attitude from the staff. The managers, like Theresa, seemed to find the situation amusing, while Paul showed no concern at all. It was also evident that they were not taking the issue seriously, as I could hear a party going on in the background during our call. I stand by everything I said during that conversation. When I offered to show them footage of their incompetence, they declined, but I hope someone higher up will see it. This experience was a waste of money and ASDA should really consider making significant changes in the management of this store.

I typically head over to the Motherwell store for my groceries, but today I popped into the Hamilton store to grab a pizza. To my dismay, the elderly lady behind the counter scooped up my four toppings with her bare hands! When I asked her to sprinkle some extra cheese on the side because my pizza was lacking cheese (the sides were pretty bare), she insisted it would cost extra for the additional toppings. I decided to pass on that offer.

I suggest that Asda's staff use gloves or spoons in the pizza section, as I noticed more than one topping getting stuck to the woman's hands.

I had a terrible experience at the supermarket recently. My boyfriend and I went in to buy some elf bars and other items, and we were met with rude customer service from a woman with blonde hair at the customer service desk. She didn't even offer us a bag for our purchase, so we had to go elsewhere in the store to get one. As we walked past her, she demanded 30p for the bag we had gotten. We refused to pay due to her attitude, and things escalated quickly. She threatened to take the bag with our items that we had already paid for! In the end, my boyfriend threw the money on the counter, and we left feeling appalled by the whole situation. I would not recommend this store to anyone. It's a shame that we weren't able to capture the incident on video or at least get her name. She seemed like a "Karen" to me, and her behavior definitely needs to be addressed. We won't be returning.

When popping into the supermarket on Wednesdays, be sure to head to the ground floor for the café. Access to it is limited now, with only one way up available. Regrettably, you can no longer reach it through the clothing aisles. There aren't any signs mentioning this change, so it's best to rely on the lift or stairs to reach the café.

The fresh produce was quite dreadful, I must say. It seemed like some items were mysteriously absent from the shelves, while others appeared positively rotten as if they had been neglected for weeks. Upon realizing that we wouldn't be able to find what we needed due to a severe shortage of stock at a mere 1:30pm on a Wednesday, we decided to leave and head over to Morrisons instead. To our delight, Morrisons actually had those exotic and hard-to-find vegetables such as carrots, onions, and turnips. A much more satisfying shopping experience, I must say!

I would strongly advise against visiting this supermarket on a Sunday morning if you are elderly, disabled, or unwell and require assistance. There were no manned checkouts open, and customers experienced issues with the self-service registers, causing frustration and impatience. Despite plenty of staff in the store, none seemed proactive enough to open a checkout when needed. This lack of care and attention is reflected in the emptiness of the store at 8am on a Sunday. As a person who has suffered two heart attacks, the slow service and lack of assistance caused significant stress and delays. It took me 45 minutes to complete my own checkout, and I had to wait for help multiple times due to red lights flashing at the self-service registers. This situation is incredibly exasperating for all customers, not just those who are elderly or disabled. I will be choosing to shop at stores that prioritize customer service in the future.

Edit... Two staff members were aware of the situation but chose not to open another checkout.

Always a favorite store for us to pop into. When you arrive, the shopping carts are complimentary, no need for a pound coin here. Ample car parking available on two levels. Upon entering, you'll find a spacious store spanning across two floors. They even have a cafe and an ATM. Additionally, they offer a foreign currency exchange service. The staff members are quite accommodating and friendly.

I must say, the customer service desk at this supermarket was an absolute nightmare. Instead of actually trying to find a solution or calling a manager to assist with my request for a refund on a gift card with an unreadable code, they simply passed the blame onto others. As a result, I ended up losing £20 and now it's past the refund date. Absolutely frustrating experience!

I recently visited Asda in Hamilton and was quite dismayed to see a few individuals entering the store without wearing facemasks. It's a bit perplexing that the security personnel at the entrance are solely focused on preventing theft rather than enforcing mask-wearing guidelines.
Asda should certainly improve their protocols in this regard, as it seems like a rather careless oversight on their part.
