Experience at Boots Beauty Supply Store in Edinburgh

If you are looking for a comprehensive beauty supply store in Edinburgh, the Boots on Princes Street is a prominent choice. With a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, it aims to provide an inclusive shopping experience for all customers.

Planning Your Visit

Before heading over, it's vital to plan your visit. The store offers various service options, including in-store shopping and in-store pick-up. For those who prefer online shopping, Boots allows for NFC mobile payments and other convenient payment methods such as debit cards and credit cards. This flexibility ensures a quick visit for customers on the go.

Accessibility and Customer Experience

While the store boasts excellent accessibility features, customer experiences vary significantly. Some customers have reported feeling uncomfortable due to how staff interact with them. Instances of feeling watched or questioned about their intentions can tarnish the shopping atmosphere. It’s essential for the management to ensure that staff training includes a focus on customer comfort and respect.

Payment and Service Options

The checkout process has faced criticism as well; while many appreciate the self-checkout option, some find it frustrating when technology fails. Customers encountering issues with self-service technology have mentioned receiving inadequate support, which is unacceptable for a store of this caliber. Ensuring that qualified staff are available at self-service tills and within the store could alleviate these frustrations.

Delivery and In-Store Shopping

For those unable to visit physically, the Boots store also provides delivery options, making it easier for customers to receive their desired products at home. However, ensuring that popular items, particularly in the health and beauty range, are always in stock is crucial for customer satisfaction, especially during peak shopping seasons.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Boots beauty supply store in Edinburgh has the potential to be a superb shopping destination thanks to its extensive product range and helpful services. By addressing customer service issues and enhancing staff training, Boots can improve customer experiences, ensuring that every visit is a positive one. Whether you need cosmetics, personal care items, or advice from knowledgeable staff, Boots aims to cater to your needs while ensuring accessibility and convenience.

I 'ad a bit of a kerfuffle at this shop when they tried to charge me twice for a vaccine already paid for at another Boots. After kickin' up a fuss, they phoned the other branch and eventually sorted it out. But let me tell you, they made me feel like I was in the wrong! Save yourself the trouble and mosey on over to a different store, that's me advice to anyone lookin' to shop 'round here.

The staff at the prescription counter can be quite unpleasant and seem to believe they are above everyone else. I've encountered this behavior several times. It's so frustrating that I can't even give them one star! 😡

Absolutely adore this store, especially their post-Christmas sales. Picked up some amazing deals yesterday and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service lady. The only downside is the self-service tech, which is decent when it's functioning properly. Show some love for your local retail scene and score yourself a steal. Cheers!

Really helpful experience at Boots while shopping for cosmetics for a wedding. I was a bit anxious when I realized it was self-checkout, as I'm not used to it. But, I decided to ask for help from a very kind gentleman. He scanned all my items, understanding and reassuring me throughout. His assistance made my shopping experience at Boots a delightful one.

My partner and I were in the market for some gentleman's eau de parfum, and with the abundance of great deals on offer, we needed some guidance to determine the best option. Thankfully, our sales associate not only assisted us in making a decision but also took care of setting up my loyalty card and arranged for the eau de parfum to be delivered to our home since it was out of stock in the store. I regret not recalling her name, but she was incredibly helpful and kind. We were thoroughly impressed!

Oh, what a delightful chap helped me and my darling boys pick out some sunscreen and serum for our faces. He truly made us all ecstatic with his exceptional service. 😉😉😉 He had recently moved in with his folks, so he knows his stuff. Take care!

This shop has certainly seen brighter days. While there are efforts underway to modernize the upper floor's interior, the diabetic food selection remains quite limited. The view of the castle is breathtaking and could easily be mistaken for a high-end dining spot.

The experience of being intensely stared at by someone can be quite unsettling, and I definitely felt it during my visit to this store. The hefty security guard seemed to shadow me throughout the store, but I didn't feel intimidated, just thought he was a real unit (if you catch my drift by "unit").

I popped down to the chemist to grab an emergency script but got the full druggy treatment! Just moved to Edinburgh and still on the books with NHS England. When I requested my meds, the response was: 'I can only dish out a week's worth to tide you over,' to tide me over? Seriously? He probably hasn't got a clue how important this is for me! I don't care about RX or Token, no idea what they are and frankly, don't want to know! I flashed my med pack with my name and NHS app with my repeat script, and still nada!

Abi from Boots on Princes Street in Edinburgh did an amazing job shaping my eyebrows and grooming my face - absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much. Brigitte from Switzerland

Hello there, international traveler!

If you're from the States and feeling a bit under the weather and unsure about which medications to take, this is the place to stop!

The health desk on the 1st floor (or 2nd floor for my American friends) has incredibly knowledgeable staff who can assist you in determining the medications you might require.

Having traveled to the UK a few times now, I greatly appreciate how helpful the Boots staff always is when I'm feeling unwell.

It's also a fantastic location to replenish your stash of clean versions of makeup and skincare products.

Today, we stopped by the store in search of some samples for a pamper session with the girls we look after. The lovely lady at the perfume counter was incredibly kind and provided us with a generous assortment. Thank you very much for brightening our day!

I 'ave mental 'ealth problems so require regular medication. I 'ave tried many other pharmacies but I'm stickin' with Boots Princes Street. They are the most friendly, most informed and the most carin' of the whole lot that I've tried. Princes Street Boots is not very close to me but I am 'appy to travel for the customer/patient service. I really can't complain about ANYTHING! Thank you all for your 'ard work, you are the standard that ALL pharmacies should try to live up to. ❤
Alice Campbell (26/06/2025, 20:04):
It may seem a bit confusing to navigate the healthcare system here, especially for those coming from Latin America. However, I must say, this pharmacy has an incredibly welcoming staff who truly listen to your concerns and provide valuable advice on how to proceed. If you have any doubts, they will address them; if there are any issues, rest assured they can help resolve them. And if you're unclear on your rights as an individual, they will take the time to explain it all to you.

I cannot express enough gratitude for everything they did to assist me with my medications and how they collaborated with Laureiston Place Hospital to ensure I received new ones.
Ethan Myers (24/06/2025, 17:50):
Five stars go to the outstanding staff at this beauty supply store.

Daniel, who works on the upper level, is truly exceptional. His knowledge is unparalleled. When I was in search of an electric toothbrush, Daniel meticulously explained the nuances of each model and feature - from motor speed variations to device longevity. I was informed that the team had attended a workshop conducted by electric toothbrush engineers. Daniel is undoubtedly a specialist in his field!

Furthermore, Daniel showed immense kindness towards me and went out of his way to assist. I trust that Daniel will have the opportunity to mentor other staff members in the future!
Barbara Graham (22/06/2025, 22:54):
The store is way too massive, making it a real challenge to locate the items you're looking for. The Pharmacy section on the upper floor is particularly frustrating as basic products like paracetamol are tucked away there. It's also quite annoying that there are no staff members nearby the self-service checkout counters. So, if you require assistance, you have to wander around in search of someone to help you out.
Daisy Jordan (21/06/2025, 00:52):
The store itself is alright, it's a huge Boots spread across two floors with a wide range of beauty products on the lower level, and even more items to explore upstairs. They also provide eyewear services, a pharmacy, and in our case, child vaccination services. I'm giving it a lower rating because Boots has made the decision to only offer the specific child service we needed at this location in Edinburgh. It can be inconvenient to bring young children into the city center, especially on a weekday when you're a working parent. It's even more frustrating considering that our local Boots in Corstorphine or Gyle used to provide this service, as our older child received it there a few years ago.
Joe Myers (13/06/2025, 21:56):
It was absolutely amazing to be recommended the Baby Room when we visited with our seven-week-old baby. A massive thank you to Colin for being incredibly helpful and accommodating.
Mia Sanders (09/06/2025, 00:05):
My top store! The staff is so helpful, the selection is vast, and the prices are fantastic.
Ethan Kim (07/06/2025, 17:41):
I popped into the store bright and early at the tail end of a weekend getaway in Edinburgh. I was on the hunt for some goodies for my husband's Christmas gifts. We were helped by a delightful lady named Diane who was holding down the fort on the ground floor. She was so pleasant and efficient, even before she noticed I had a staff card. Diane truly turned what can sometimes be a daunting task (as he never knows what he wants) into an absolute delight. Huge thanks to Diane for her top-notch service!
