ASDA Pharmacy in Aberdeen: An Overview

Located in the heart of Aberdeen, ASDA Pharmacy aims to provide a range of healthcare services. However, various reviews from customers highlight several areas for improvement and insight into their experiences.

Accessibility and Planning

The pharmacy features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible car park, making it convenient for individuals with mobility challenges. Despite this accessibility, many customers note that poor planning often leads to unexpected closures, particularly during meal breaks. This can be frustrating for those who rely on timely medication services.

Service Options

Customers have mixed feelings about the service options at ASDA Pharmacy. While some staff members are praised for being particularly helpful, such as a notable incident where emergency insulin was provided, others report a slower service that can lead to long waiting times. One patron recounted waiting for half an hour just to collect a single item.

Payment Methods and Delivery Services

When it comes to payments, ASDA Pharmacy accommodates various options, including credit cards. However, customers have expressed that communication regarding prescription readiness can be lacking. Queries over the phone often go unanswered, leaving patrons uncertain about the status of their medications.

In-Store Pick-Up and Quick Visits

The convenience of in-store pick-up is available for quick visits, yet the effectiveness of this service is impeded by the unpredictable closing times. Customers have reported instances where they arrived just before closing only to find the pharmacy prematurely shut down.

Conclusion

In summary, while ASDA Pharmacy in Aberdeen boasts helpful staff and accessible facilities, there are significant concerns regarding service efficiency and communication. Customers should plan ahead and allow ample time for visits, especially considering the potential for long queues and unexpected closures. Improvements in these areas could significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

I frequent this pharmacy twice a week and it's quite hit or miss. The team is either splendid or completely clueless and uninterested. In any event, they seem incredibly overworked and understaffed. No matter when you visit or who's working, be prepared to spend a good chunk of time there. I've often found myself thinking I'll keel over from old age before receiving any medication for my ailments.
Amber Coleman (30/07/2025, 14:02):
I received excellent guidance!

The staff should be trained to provide wound dressing as well!
Gabriel Butler (30/07/2025, 00:56):
I had a very helpful experience at the pharmacy today. I would highly recommend this chemist as they were very accommodating.
Vincent Kim (25/07/2025, 11:09):
Extremely friendly and very affordable when purchasing in bulk or privately, plus the staff is top-notch. Highly recommended!
Roy Taylor (25/07/2025, 04:29):
This place is an absolute joke, not very helpful at all, and the staff are quite rude. They seem more interested in shutting down and taking breaks than actually assisting customers at the counter.

Always a bloomin' long queue, innit? Not very private when ya tryna ask questions with the bleedin' background noise goin' on in the store. Nowhere to bloomin' stand and wait away from other customers, I tell ya. I popped into collect 1 item yesterday and ended up in the queue for 'alf an hour - madness, innit?

I was in the store today doin' me shoppin' and caught a glimpse of the pharmacy - there were 16 folks waitin' in the queue (around 4pm on a Saturday, when there can't be prescriptions!!). Totally bonkers, I reckon. I've 'ad it with Asda pharmacy and decided to give another one in the area a go.
Charlotte Stewart (14/07/2025, 07:09):
The wait time can be a bit excessive, but the friendly staff always greets you with a smile and is quite helpful. That's why I rated them four stars ⭐✨.
Daniel Morales (11/07/2025, 02:03):
I ain't one to nitpick, but I showed up at the line two minutes to six. That night they were set to close at six. When the line finally cleared, the pharmacist's own clock was still ticking, just seconds away from six, but the shutters were down. There were three employees lingering around, and one of 'em informed me they were closed. I pointed out that it wasn't yet six, gesturing towards their clock. However, she responded with, "the barriers are already up, so you'll have to return at nine tomorrow morning." They seemed disinterested and scurried off like rats up a drainpipe. If I needed crucial heart medication, I'd be in a spot of bother. The lesson here is, best to show up well before closing time.
Carl Watson (09/07/2025, 00:58):
The pharmacist was extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to assist me.
Sophia Myers (08/07/2025, 21:48):
Great neighborhood pharmacy. They typically have a good supply of prescription items in store.
Donald Ramirez (03/07/2025, 20:33):
I'm not keen on this pharmacy as it has a habit of closing unexpectedly for meal breaks and often lacks sufficient staff. The service is slow, leading to longer wait times than anticipated. There's room for improvement, I'm afraid.
Amanda Morgan (03/07/2025, 06:25):
The pharmacist at this establishment is always so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend their services.
Joan Richardson (25/06/2025, 12:14):

Judith Murphy (24/06/2025, 11:38):
The team is brilliant and very helpful, providing excellent service. Ideal for picking up necessities after 7 o'clock.
Cheryl Martin (21/06/2025, 20:17):
Extremely helpful and opens on Sundays, although do keep in mind it shuts for lunch at 1pm.
Danielle Reyes (14/06/2025, 17:59):
Do they ever pick up the phone? My doctor said they emailed my prescription and it should be ready for pick-up that afternoon. I called multiple times to check, but no one answered. I went to the pharmacy at 8pm only to be told they hadn't received any email. The next day, the doctor's office confirmed they had sent the prescription the previous day. I tried calling the pharmacy again several times, but still no answer - the call just rang out and then got disconnected. I'm not feeling well enough to keep going back and forth to the shop to see if it's ready.
Virginia Bennett (12/06/2025, 07:26):
Very bustling chemist's shop, yet consistently welcoming and ready to lend a hand. Much obliged!
Frank Garcia (11/06/2025, 00:41):
It takes forever to get it back.
Christina Sanders (07/06/2025, 18:06):
The staff were absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful. A huge shoutout to Louise who managed to arrange an emergency insulin pen for me today when the hospital and everyone else couldn't assist me!
