Exploring Well Pharmacy in Alloa: A Community Essential

Well Pharmacy, located on the High Street of Alloa, serves as a vital healthcare provider for the local community. Despite facing some challenges with service delivery, it maintains its reputation as an accessible option for both prescription needs and retail shopping.

Accessibility Features

The pharmacy boasts a wheelchair-accessible car park and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that everyone can access their services. The ground-floor location enhances convenience for individuals with mobility challenges.

Service Options Available On-Site

Well Pharmacy offers a range of on-site services including prescription dispensing and in-store shopping. Customers can utilize various payment options such as debit cards, credit cards, and even NFC mobile payments for added convenience. While waiting times have been a point of frustration, the staff do provide updates on prescription preparation times. Many visitors appreciate the transparency when it comes to wait time management.

LGBTQ+ Friendly Environment

The pharmacy is known for being LGBTQ+ friendly, creating an inclusive environment for all customers. This commitment to diversity is reflected in the staff’s approachability and willingness to assist with inquiries, even during busy periods.

Queue Management and Customer Experience

Feedback from patrons reveals a mixed experience regarding customer service. Some have reported long waiting times, with queues sometimes extending out the door, primarily due to the high volume of prescription requests. This often leads to frustration among those seeking quick purchases. To improve efficiency, it has been suggested that a separate queue system for prescription drop-offs and retail purchases would streamline operations. Despite the challenges, many customers noted the helpfulness of the staff, particularly during busy hours. They often go above and beyond to provide assistance, contributing positively to the overall atmosphere of the pharmacy.

Planning Your Visit

For those planning a visit to Well Pharmacy, it is open from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30, and Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00. It remains closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly to avoid disappointment.

Conclusion

While there are areas for improvement, particularly regarding service efficiency and customer interaction, Well Pharmacy in Alloa remains an essential part of the community. It provides a range of accessible services and strives to create an inclusive shopping experience for everyone. For quick visits or fulfilling prescription needs, this pharmacy continues to be a reliable choice.

I must say, the service at this pharmacy is an absolute travesty. I found myself waiting for over an hour in a queue, only to be informed that my prescription had not even been read yet. After being asked to return in 45 minutes, I came back and endured another 30-minute wait, only to be told that I needed to wait an additional 15 minutes. The following week, I experienced another hour-long wait just to receive half of my prescription. Thankfully, I double-checked before leaving and discovered the oversight. When I went back in to collect the rest of my prescription, I was made to wait another 15 minutes. It truly is a disgrace.

The customer service is generally good at this pharmacy, but there's this youngish fellow on staff whose attitude is quite shocking. He told us that the item we needed was out of stock, but when we explained that it was our only day off to pick it up, he suddenly found some in stock. When interacting with customers, he doesn't really speak, he just plops your medication on the counter and walks away. It's like zero customer service. We even saw him doing the same thing to other customers who were just as surprised as we were. Perhaps a training course in customer relations would benefit him.

Top-notch team at this pharmacy! They provide outstanding service that is both speedy and dependable.👏💯👌😁 ...
Austin Ramos (12/06/2025, 13:23):
I recently had to pop into the Pharmacy for some help with a reaction I was having. I was quickly assisted by Cameron and the on-duty pharmacist, who provided me with advice and prescribed a cream for me. I really appreciate the efficient service and support. Thank you!
Sophia Hall (03/06/2025, 05:39):
The staff at this pharmacy is absolutely top-notch. Their level of service and expertise is truly outstanding. I highly recommend them for all your pharmaceutical needs.
Andrew Sanders (31/05/2025, 01:36):
This ain't no review, but the shop and staff are top-notch. Could you kindly update the opening hours on your website? Luckily, I'm just a 5-minute jaunt from town, but still, it was a wasted trip. Perhaps I ought to have given a bell beforehand to confirm the hours, but lesson learned. I ain't here to rain on your parade, and I'll keep using this service as the PDA system has really improved things. Big thanks to all the staff for keeping the doors open. By the way, kudos for doing better than Wetherspoons, who were still claiming to be open a whole week after lockdown. I let them have it in my review. Stay safe and have a lovely weekend, G.G.
Patrick Thomas (30/05/2025, 20:36):
The queues in this pharmacy are incredibly long, and there are very few seats available to sit down while you wait. It takes a significant amount of time to have prescriptions filled, especially when they are sent directly from doctors. I waited for over two weeks for an inhaler, only to be informed that it was out of stock. I had to contact my GP for a new prescription and use a different pharmacy service, which was extremely frustrating.
Danielle Roberts (30/05/2025, 20:04):
Outstanding pharmacist, the lasses go above and beyond to assist you. If I could give more than 5 stars, I surely would. Kudos to the lovely ladies for their excellent work.
Brandon Adams (28/05/2025, 18:52):
This pharmacy seems to prioritize prescription customers, while retail customers are not given as much attention. The queues are long with people holding prescriptions, and there isn't a separate line for those looking to make a regular purchase. With only four or five staff members behind the counter, the wait can be quite long even for simple items like sticking plasters. It can be chaotic and disorganized, especially if you're in a rush. Hopefully, they can implement a more efficient system like other pharmacies in Scotland, with separate queues for prescriptions and retail purchases to improve the overall customer experience.
Austin Phillips (28/05/2025, 17:56):
I had an absolutely dreadful experience with this service. I highly recommend avoiding it altogether. The wait times were intolerable, and some of the staff members exhibited arrogance, lack of knowledge, and a complete ineptitude in providing quality service.
Cheryl Young (28/05/2025, 12:19):
All staff work 'ard and are top-notch.
Wayne Rogers (28/05/2025, 10:36):
The staff is always so friendly and helpful.
Joan Coleman (26/05/2025, 10:11):
Such a judgmental attitude towards people, painting them all with the same brush. If I could give zero stars, I certainly would.
Dylan Sanchez (18/05/2025, 06:36):
I had an absolutely dreadful experience at the Alloa pharmacy. The customer service was appalling and there was a complete lack of organization. The staff were extremely impolite and I had to wait for an unreasonable amount of time just to see if they had the items I needed. It's obvious that some serious changes need to be made - perhaps a bit of training in presentation and professionalism wouldn't go amiss. It seems like a bunch of clueless individuals are running the show here!
Beverly Lee (13/05/2025, 15:04):
This pharmacy is obviously overwhelmed and in need of additional counter service staff. The crowded space with so many people waiting is a recipe for potential cross-infections.
Alan Hamilton (13/05/2025, 02:03):
Chaotic chemist shop.
Here's a little advice for ya,
1 line for folks droppin' off their prescriptions
1 line for folks pickin' up prescriptions
And if there's a massive line, switch off the phone. It ain't that hard.
Harold Hall (10/05/2025, 14:01):
Outstanding assistance and top-notch expertise in pharmaceuticals.
Sara Kim (09/05/2025, 23:20):
I had a dreadful experience at the local pharmacy, mate. I was queueing for a whopping hour and 15 minutes! The staff really need to have a better handle on things, especially when the queue is literally out the door. They ought to prioritize serving customers instead of whatever else they're doing. It wouldn't hurt to hire some counter staff to handle the front, you know? Needless to say, I've decided to switch pharmacies.
Charles Scott (09/05/2025, 23:15):
The staff at this pharmacy is absolutely lovely. They are always ready to assist and provide exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this place for all your pharmaceutical needs!
Lawrence Moore (05/05/2025, 22:07):
The staff here are far more helpful compared to the larger store located further down the high street.
