Regrettably, I must provide only a one-star rating. For the past 28 years of utilizing this pharmacy, it had always earned a five-star rating from me. However, on two occasions within the span of two months, I have encountered unsatisfactory experiences. My husband and I, being elderly and in poor health (I am 79, and he is 85), require a significant amount of medication. I do not keep track of the specific medications I order or their availability; I solely remember placing the orders.

Previously, when I ordered medication from my physician's office, the pharmacist would send me a text message notifying me of the readiness and quantity available for collection. It appears that the pharmacy has undergone a change in ownership as the familiar faces have been replaced by young women.

Two months ago, I received a notification that one of my medications was ready for collection. Since the pharmacy is located 5 miles from my residence, we usually pick up prescriptions when we are in the area. Upon collecting the medication, the staff member initially handed me only one item. I mentioned that I had ordered two, and she then retrieved the second one from the back. I felt fortunate to have inquired; otherwise, I would have gone home unaware that both were available.

Yesterday, my husband was informed of another prescription ready for pickup, so he went to the pharmacy. Expecting multiple items, I was surprised when he returned to the car with just one prescription. I urged him to return inside and confirm if the others were also prepared. After revisiting the pharmacy, he emerged with a bag containing three additional medications that the staff had not checked for initially. We depend on these medications and rely on the pharmacy's efficiency in dispensing them. Had we left without verifying, there would have been no indication of their availability for collection.

When I called the pharmacy to address these concerns, the young woman I spoke with was dismissive and interrupted me while I tried to explain the situation. She insisted that I should know what I had ordered and appeared visibly agitated. I clarified that I am unsure when each medication is ready for collection, as some may arrive late, etc. Despite my explanation, she reiterated that it was my responsibility to be aware and abruptly ended the call.

Upon further investigation, I discovered that George Ramones, who owns Duns Pharmacy, is now the proprietor of Coldstream Pharmacy. I promptly contacted him to express my grievances. He defended the lack of constant checks for medication availability but acknowledged that the staff member should not have hung up on me.

In the past, I consistently received notifications when medications were ready, and the staff diligently searched various locations, including their refrigerator, without any issues. It is disheartening to encounter a decline in dedication, efficiency, and commitment to providing excellent customer service. Dealing with the necessity of these medications is already challenging without facing obstacles in obtaining them!
