Exploring Gairbraid Pharmacy in Glasgow

Gairbraid Pharmacy, located in Glasgow, has been a part of the community for years, offering various services to meet the needs of its customers. However, it has experienced mixed reviews regarding its service quality and accessibility.

In-Store Shopping and Accessibility

The pharmacy provides in-store shopping options, but customer experiences vary. Some patrons appreciate the wheelchair-accessible entrance, emphasizing the importance of accessibility for all individuals. It is crucial for pharmacies to cater to everyone, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, creating an inclusive shopping environment.

Service Options and Payments

Gairbraid Pharmacy accepts various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, making transactions convenient for customers. However, some customers have expressed frustration regarding service options and prescription fulfillment. Instances of staff shortages have led to longer wait times and difficulties in collecting prescriptions, highlighting the need for improved operational efficiency.

Delivery and In-Store Pick-Up

While the pharmacy offers in-store pick-up for prescriptions, there have been complaints about delays. One customer noted waiting over three weeks for essential medications, which is particularly concerning for individuals recovering from serious health issues. Meanwhile, others have found the delivery options insufficient, with reports of unresponsive customer service regarding inquiries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Safe Space for Everyone

Gairbraid Pharmacy aims to be a transgender safe space, ensuring a respectful environment for all customers. The commitment to being LGBTQ+ friendly is commendable, yet it is often overshadowed by negative service experiences shared by some patrons.

Customer Experiences: A Mixed Bag

Some reviews reflect a strong appreciation for the great staff who are described as helpful and attentive. However, other customers have reported feeling disregarded, citing lack of communication about changes to operating hours and dissatisfaction with the handling of prescriptions. Instances of receiving the wrong items or rude behavior from management have affected the overall perception of the pharmacy.

Conclusion

While Gairbraid Pharmacy has the potential to be a valuable healthcare resource in Glasgow, it faces significant challenges in customer service and operational efficiency. Addressing these concerns will not only enhance customer satisfaction but also strengthen its reputation as a reliable pharmacy for the community.

The staff at this pharmacy are absolutely fantastic - always willing to assist and cater to all your prescription and health requirements.

Arrived at the shop only to find out that it was closed due to its 'new' opening hours. These updated hours were posted on a note rather than being updated on their website or Google Maps.

During my previous visit, I attempted to submit a new prescription but they declined to accept it citing short staffing issues. Medications are quite crucial for us to rely on...

I've been frequenting this pharmacy for years now, and I must say, I've never had a negative encounter. The staff has consistently been exceptionally kind and accommodating. Can't say I have any grievances to share!
Barbara Howard (28/05/2025, 01:32):
I popped by the pharmacy to pick up a prescription, only to find a notice on the door stating that they would be closed for 20 minutes for staff training. It seemed like they had already shut shop a little while before I got there. I ended up waiting around for about half an hour, only for the place to stay shut. If the sign had mentioned the time of closure, I wouldn't have wasted my precious time like that. Total lack of consideration for customers. I won't be returning to this place, and I suggest you don't either.
