Rowlands Pharmacy in Glasgow: An Overview of Services

Rowlands Pharmacy, located in the heart of Glasgow, offers various service options designed to cater to the needs of its diverse clientele. This pharmacy provides in-store shopping as well as convenient in-store pick-up for those who prefer to collect their prescriptions themselves.

Accessibility Features

Accessibility is a key consideration at Rowlands Pharmacy. The establishment features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that all customers can navigate the space comfortably. It strives to be an LGBTQ+ friendly environment, fostering inclusivity and creating a transgender safe space for all individuals who visit.

Payment Options Available

When it comes to transactions, Rowlands Pharmacy is equipped to handle various payment methods. Customers can use debit cards, credit cards, or even make NFC mobile payments for added convenience. These flexible payment options help streamline the purchasing process, although some customers have expressed frustration about the overall service experience.

Delivery Service Challenges

In addition to in-store services, Rowlands Pharmacy offers a delivery service for those unable to visit in person. However, there have been complaints regarding the reliability of this service. Customers have noted issues such as late prescriptions and inadequate notification processes, leaving many feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Customer Experiences and Service Quality

Unfortunately, customer feedback reveals significant concerns regarding the quality of service at Rowlands Pharmacy. Numerous patrons have reported delays in receiving their monthly prescriptions, which should ideally be ready on time. One customer mentioned making multiple trips to pick up prescriptions that were not prepared, highlighting the pharmacy's inconsistent service. Another recurring issue is the lack of communication. Many customers indicated that they felt neglected when it came to being informed about prescription statuses. Complaints about unhelpful staff attitudes have surfaced frequently, with some expressing feeling dismissed or insulted during their visits.

The Importance of Empathy and Care

A pharmacy should be a place of support and health care, yet many reviews suggest that Rowlands Pharmacy has fallen short in this regard. Customers have described experiences where staff members seemed indifferent to their needs, particularly in critical situations concerning medications. For individuals requiring urgent prescriptions, such as heart medication, delays and poor service can have dire consequences.

Conclusion

While Rowlands Pharmacy offers a range of services that include accessibility features, flexible payment options, and delivery, the overall customer experience appears to leave much to be desired. Many customers seek a more empathetic approach to their health needs. It's crucial for any pharmacy to not only provide the necessary medications but to also ensure that their customers feel valued and cared for. For those seeking reliable and supportive pharmacy services in Glasgow, exploring alternative options may be advisable.

I would give zero stars if possible. On multiple occasions, my prescriptions have been delayed. Rather than providing what is available, they hold the entire prescription. Certain medications cannot be missed daily, and even when ordered a week in advance, they are still late. No one contacts you to inform you of the delay or coordinates with the doctor's office to notify you. I suggest avoiding this pharmacy if you can. There is no customer service, patience, or empathy, and it takes an eternity to be served while the entire staff appears to be chatting instead.
Nicole Diaz (21/06/2025, 22:22):
I would not recommend this pharmacy at all. I had a very urgent prescription that my doctor sent over at 9am on a Tuesday morning. I explained the emergency situation as I had lost all my medication during a flight and hadn't had any since the Friday before. The staff assured me they had received the prescription and said it would be ready in the afternoon for me to pick up. I returned at 2pm and waited for 20 minutes while they searched the entire store, only to be told it wouldn't be ready until Wednesday. I was shocked - it was a crucial prescription for my heart medication that I needed to take twice a day. Clearly, they didn't understand the urgency of the situation despite my repeated explanations.
Evelyn Simmons (21/06/2025, 21:42):
I always seem to be running low on my medications when I need them the most.
Hannah Johnson (21/06/2025, 03:56):
I've been trying to reach someone at the pharmacy, but the line is always busy and there seems to be no other way to get in touch in an urgent situation. It's frustrating that the management hasn't set up a proper system for handling calls. A hold system or a call back system would make things so much easier. The lack of organization from management is really disappointing.
Jordan Martin (21/06/2025, 00:57):
This pharmacy seems to have a unique approach, putting their customers at the bottom of the priority list. It's quite surprising to see customers left waiting outside in the cold while the staff seem to take their time inside the cozy shop. They also appear to have their own interpretation of COVID guidelines. While other stores are open and welcoming customers, this place often remains closed. Additionally, encounters with the staff can be less than pleasant.
Deborah Ford (17/06/2025, 02:54):
I must say, the pharmacist I had the pleasure of speaking with over the phone was absolutely delightful and provided me with top-notch assistance. It's rare to come across such quality service these days. A heartfelt thank you from yours truly. TM.
Janice Hamilton (16/06/2025, 18:50):
I was absolutely gobsmacked by the service I received at this Pharmacy!! There was only one lass attending to customers, and she couldn't even locate a bloke's prescription. And to top it off, there were at least three blokes loitering behind the counter doing who knows what! After waiting for what felt like ages, I finally mustered up the courage to ask the pharmacist if there was anyone else available to assist. To my dismay, he just shook his head and mumbled something about being short-staffed. The cheek of it all! It seems they have no interest in making a bit of dosh. I shan't be returning, as this wasn't the first time I've had a rotten experience here. If I could, I'd give them zero stars, no doubt about it.
Juan Howard (16/06/2025, 04:06):
The service is top-notch, I must say.
Evelyn Long (15/06/2025, 14:10):
One must make payment in order to have their prescription delivered.
Janice Russell (13/06/2025, 01:20):
Aye, let me tell ya, this pharmacy be the worst one I've ever set foot in. The pharmacist made a mistake, but instead of ownin' up to it and apologizin', she just brushed it off. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place, matey.
Justin Bailey (07/06/2025, 16:03):
I must say, I'm quite puzzled by the negative remark. I've been a patron of Crowfoot Pharmacy for close to two decades now, and I can't sing their praises enough. The staff members have consistently shown exceptional professionalism, courtesy, and compassion towards me. A solid 5 out of 5 in my book!
Betty Gonzalez (01/06/2025, 07:27):
Great staff, excellent customer service, they offer delivery for those in need, and always have amazing deals on a wide selection of toiletries, perfumes, etc.
Jonathan Sanchez (31/05/2025, 00:08):
There always seems to be a lengthy wait, even during quieter times
Adam White (30/05/2025, 15:27):
The staff were absolutely delightful and exceedingly helpful.
Patricia Phillips (30/05/2025, 06:08):
I popped into the pharmacy on Saturday morning, and the young lass at the counter was fairly new. I needed some advice from the pharmacy, and bless her heart, she had to come back to me three times to ask what she had been told to ask. The pharmacist didn't come out to speak with me, and in the end, I had to ring NHS24. I reckon if she had spoken to me directly, a lot more could have been sorted out. We're encouraged to seek advice from pharmacies, but the service was quite shocking.
Timothy Hayes (30/05/2025, 03:56):
Terrible customer service - best head over to Wells Chemist right across the street if you can. The lady there is much friendlier, more understanding, knowledgeable, and offers alternatives if items are out of stock.

I've been struggling to find the free vitamin D drops for my breastfed four-month-old and have visited several pharmacies. To be fair to this pharmacy, it's the first time staff have explained to me that it's a stock issue rather than just refusing service. Nevertheless, the service was pretty unhelpful and cold with no suggestions for other products or brands I could potentially purchase online, which I consider negligent given it concerns my baby's health. The whole ordeal was even more frustrating as my GP had called ahead to this pharmacy and a staff member had assured them they had the vitamin D in stock, so I walked a round trip of 4k with a pram (not the longest distance but includes two big hills).

After failing to obtain the vitamin D with no advice on when it would be back in stock, I requested baby paracetamol as my daughter is due for her third round of vaccinations in a few days. I was told this was fine, asked to fill out a form and wait for 15 minutes. I agreed to wait and wandered around the area. When I returned, the staff member who assisted me and asked me to wait was nowhere to be seen, and a pharmacist instead approached me, informing me she couldn't provide the paracetamol without the red book due to safety concerns. I have never read on any NHS minor ailment information sheet that the red book is required to collect paracetamol for potential vaccine-induced fevers. I don't carry the red book with me, so I was denied paracetamol based on the assumption that I am either foolishly giving my daughter medication, intentionally trying to harm her, or simply lying about her upcoming vaccinations. Just dreadful.
Melissa Kelly (29/05/2025, 13:53):
I 'ad to make return trips to pick up me monthly prescriptions that should 'ave been ready at least 5 times in the past 6 or 7 months, most recently twice in a row. Once or twice fair enough, accidents/'uman error 'appens, but it's kinda beyond a joke at this stage. Fortunate me prescriptions are for nothin' life savin'.

Was amazed by 'ow much faster (and friendlier) the service was when I went elsewhere this month.
Victoria Roberts (27/05/2025, 12:27):
Dreadful service! Unhelpful and impolite staff.
Lack of patient-focused assistance, absence of patient care, and poor customer service.
The pharmacist lacks professional standards.
Quite dissatisfied.
Heather Powell (24/05/2025, 13:12):
Absolutely dreadful. Everything is in chaos, prescriptions are never ready on time, despite giving them plenty of notice (I placed my order on Monday morning, called on Thursday afternoon to check if it was ready, was told it would be available for collection on Friday after 4pm, but when I went into the shop at 11am today, Saturday, I was informed it wasn't ready because they were waiting on stock. The stock had arrived, but as the pharmacist, Hana Taynar, put it, "She'll just have to wait, I've got 2 trays to check in front of her"). The staff at the front counter and dispensers are pleasant, but most of the pharmacists seem to have a serious attitude problem. I understand they may be stressed, short-staffed, and under pressure, but there is no excuse for treating a customer poorly, especially one who has been patient and polite despite facing numerous service issues over the years at this pharmacy. My family and I have been loyal customers here for years due to its convenient location for us, but we are seriously considering taking our business elsewhere from now on. When I finally collected my prescription, I expressed my disappointment to the pharmacist about her attitude and handling of the situation, but she didn't acknowledge me at all. She remained completely silent, offering no explanation, apology, or justification, just staring blankly. This is extremely poor customer service.
Henry Ramirez (24/05/2025, 08:50):
I must frequent this pharmacy QUITE a bit. I have never, and I do mean never, encountered any issues with the staff or in getting assistance whenever I had encountered a problem. Furthermore, I have been in this vicinity for YEARS.
