Rowlands Pharmacy: Service Overview

Located in St Leonards Square, Glasgow, Rowlands Pharmacy has garnered mixed reviews regarding its delivery and overall service options. While some customers praise the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, others have expressed concerns over slow service and prescription issues.

Service Options and Delivery

Rowlands Pharmacy offers a variety of service options, including prescription management and delivery services for those who struggle with mobility. However, many patrons have reported inconsistencies with prescription readiness, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. Customers often leave comments describing their experiences with waiting times that can extend significantly, indicating a need for improvement in service efficiency.

Accessibility Features

The pharmacy provides accessibility features, including a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park. This makes it easier for customers with disabilities to access necessary medications and services. However, the long wait times could overshadow these positive aspects.

Payment Options

Rowlands Pharmacy accepts a range of payment methods, including credit cards and debit cards. Additionally, NFC mobile payments are available for those who prefer contactless transactions. Despite these conveniences, some customers have reported feeling uncomfortable during the payment process, particularly when purchasing over-the-counter medications.

Quick Visit Recommendations

If you plan on visiting Rowlands Pharmacy for a quick visit, it may be wise to allocate extra time for potential delays. Many reviews highlight the slow service, with some customers waiting up to 30 minutes just to get their prescriptions. Planning ahead and possibly contacting the pharmacy beforehand might help ensure a smoother experience.

Customer Feedback

Feedback from customers is quite polarized. While some acknowledge the excellent service provided by specific staff members like Adrienne, others recount negative experiences that led them to avoid the pharmacy altogether. Testimonials reveal that while dedicated staff members strive to provide exceptional care, system inefficiencies hinder the overall customer experience.

Conclusion

Rowlands Pharmacy in St Leonards Square presents a mix of positive attributes and notable challenges. For those seeking friendly service and essential medications, it may still serve as a viable option, provided customers are prepared for potential delays and ensure they confirm prescription readiness before visiting. In an era of modern payments and accessibility, improvement in operational efficiency would greatly enhance the overall customer experience.

The service is dreadfully sluggish, even at its peak. It's impossible to reach them to inquire about critical medication because they constantly disconnect the phone. After waiting nearly three hours, they finally inform you that the medication isn't available. One can only hope that this is simply a case of poor management rather than the standard of service this brand is supposed to uphold.
Terry Myers (23/07/2025, 23:36):
I'm only awarding this establishment a one-star rating because it wouldn't permit me to bestow a zero. On several occasions, I have returned home only to discover that half of my prescription was not included. The staff is only amicable if they are familiar with you; otherwise, they leave you standing and waiting.
Janet Collins (23/07/2025, 09:13):
Top-notch chemist in East Kilbride, the staff are friendly and always stocked with exactly what I require. Speedy service, highly recommend!
Julie Gray (21/07/2025, 08:44):
I waited 20 minutes for just one item (my son's antibiotics), popped back in half an hour later, and lo and behold, they had managed to misplace the prescription. Can you believe it?
Gary Stewart (20/07/2025, 08:18):
Absolutely splendid experience at this pharmacy! The staff is top-notch, and my prescription is always ready for me without any hassle. I couldn't be more pleased! ❤❤
Charles Jackson (19/07/2025, 02:16):
I must express my disappointment with the unprofessional behavior exhibited by a particular staff member during my recent visit to the pharmacy. Instead of addressing the issue at hand, she seemed more focused on proving her own correctness, resulting in a negative experience for me. Regrettably, I will not be returning to this establishment in the future.

I popped into the pharmacy to pick up some over-the-counter painkillers, and the lady behind the counter was quick to suggest I schedule a doctor's appointment. It seemed like she thought I was stocking up on painkillers too frequently. Strangely, she didn't inquire about who the painkillers were for, what they were needed for, or whether I was following the instructions on the information leaflet.

When it came time to pay, I felt compelled to explain why I needed the medication, but all she said was, "make sure you book that doctor's appointment," as if she didn't believe me. I get that there are important guidelines pharmacists have to follow, but I didn't appreciate the way she handled the situation.

I never imagined I'd feel so uneasy buying something as simple as painkillers over-the-counter. Regrettably, I won't be returning to this pharmacy.
Samuel Walker (16/07/2025, 03:07):
Waited 10 minutes in the queue at 5:30 PM, only to be informed that they couldn't fulfill the prescription as they close at 6 PM. Very poor service. My wife urgently needed antibiotics that day.
Jason Lee (15/07/2025, 21:46):
Informative and helpful, thank you for sharing such valuable insights!
Helen Cruz (13/07/2025, 14:37):
The pharmacy experience here is absolutely dreadful, I must say. It seems like the staff are a bit clueless most of the time, and oh my, the service is incredibly sluggish. You end up waiting in line for about 10 minutes just to be told to come back later. And when you do return, items are often missing or unavailable. Picking up a prescription shouldn't feel like a day-long endeavor, right? The staff seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves than actually helping customers. I can't stand going to this pharmacy, it's just a frustrating experience every time.
Jack Simmons (13/07/2025, 06:15):
The customer service is top-notch. The staff is always incredibly friendly and willing to assist in any way they can. They truly go above and beyond!! I cannot recommend them highly enough!!!
Jason Hughes (12/07/2025, 12:40):
I just want to say that the staff and the service I received were absolutely fantastic. I dropped off a prescription today and they told me it would be ready in half an hour. I said I would come back later as there was no rush. 30 minutes later, I received a text saying it was ready. The staff are always so helpful. I have never encountered any issues.
Diane Roberts (08/07/2025, 18:34):
Terrible experience at the pharmacy in East Kilbride. The manager, who would not give her name for a complaint, has violated data protection laws. Avoid this place if you rely on heart medication as it could have severe consequences. The manager at the St Leonard's branch was rude and unhelpful. A full complaint has been submitted and legal action for GDPR breach is being considered. I have tried to contact their head office multiple times with no response. My partner got banned because I lodged a complaint against the manager, Chelsea, who refused to provide her name. I have left a message for the head office to call me back. In the meantime, please stay away from this dreadful establishment.
Eric Garcia (08/07/2025, 13:14):
I popped into Rowlands the day after my doctor informed me that my prescription would be ready. They mentioned it'd be available after 4pm the following day, so I left my phone number for a notification when it was ready. I wasn't too concerned as I had reordered my medication to ensure I wouldn't run out if there were any delays. The day they stated it would be ready happened to be my last day of medicine. Oddly, I didn't receive a text that day. I visited this morning to check on its status. They had two of my items but not the most crucial one. When I inquired about it, they gave me a puzzled look and claimed they were never sent that specific medication. They pointed fingers at my doctor and advised me to contact them on Monday. This particular medication has been essential since a life-threatening incident that led to a long hospital stay. It's what keeps me from reliving that ordeal. For the first time in years, I'll be without this medication. I've had negative encounters with Rowlands before, but family members assured me they had improved, and given their proximity to my home, I decided to give them another chance. Sharing this to caution others to heed previous experiences and steer clear of Rowlands - they are utterly unreliable.
Judith Ford (08/07/2025, 04:13):
I must say, the service at this pharmacy is absolutely dreadful. It seems like prescriptions are never prepared on time and they always seem to point the finger at the doctor's office.
Their lack of dedication in assisting customers is truly disappointing.
Keith Lee (04/07/2025, 20:05):
I've never encountered any issues with this pharmacy - they're always so accommodating and pleasant to deal with.
Amy Long (04/07/2025, 16:18):
This pharmacist is absolutely absurd. I do apologize, but you're looking at a good half hour wait in line before you can even step foot inside the establishment. And chances are, they'll just break the news that your prescription isn't available. That's when the never-ending back and forth game of prescription ping pong between the doctor and pharmacist kicks off. And can someone please explain why, after a solid 2 years, we're still restricted to only allowing 2 people in the pharmacy at once? It's creating a line that rivals those seen for bread during the Soviet Union era.
Eugene Patterson (01/07/2025, 10:50):
I've gone there 6 times, and only managed to get my prescription filled once. Just dreadful.
Russell Reyes (30/06/2025, 14:41):
Have ya ever come across a phone queue system at the pharmacy, where all ya get is the engaged tone? I get it, everyone's busy, but when all ya wanna know is when yer prescription will be ready, it's a real hassle. How about investing in an automated system that sends customers a text when their prescription is ready for pick up? The technology's out there, no reason not to invest in it, in me opinion.
Debra White (27/06/2025, 14:57):
A chemist is a lovely place with very friendly staff.
