Exploring Well Pharmacy in Glasgow: A Comprehensive Review

Well Pharmacy, located in the heart of Glasgow, is a pharmacy that promises accessibility and convenience for its customers. However, the mixed reviews from patrons highlight both strengths and weaknesses in their service. This article delves into the various aspects of Well Pharmacy, focusing on in-store pick-up, accessibility, and service options.

In-Store Pick-Up and Accessibility

For those needing medications quickly, Well Pharmacy offers an in-store pick-up option, which can be a great convenience. However, some customers expressed frustration at the pharmacy's inconsistent operating hours. Several reviews mention arriving just before closing time, only to be turned away despite the posted hours indicating they were open longer.

The wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible car park make the pharmacy a viable option for individuals with mobility challenges. Accessibility is essential, especially for those requiring medications without added complexity. Unfortunately, customer experiences show that the overall management of the pharmacy may hinder the benefits of its accessibility features.

Payments and Service Options

Regarding payment flexibility, Well Pharmacy accepts credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This range of payment options is designed to enhance the customer experience, allowing for quick and easy transactions during in-store shopping visits. However, many customers noted dissatisfaction with the service they received, often citing rude staff and long wait times.

Customer Experience: A Mixed Bag

The experiences shared by customers vary widely. On one hand, some patrons highlighted friendly and helpful staff members who went above and beyond to address their needs. For instance, one customer praised a staff member named Mhorven for being polite, professional, and caring. Such instances show that when service is performed well, it significantly enhances customer satisfaction.

Conversely, numerous reviews pointed out harsh treatment from staff, with complaints about unprofessional behavior and inadequate responses to simple requests. Instances where customers felt insulted or mistreated have led many to recommend avoiding Well Pharmacy altogether.

Planning Your Visit

If considering a visit to Well Pharmacy, planning is crucial. Given the mixed reviews on operational hours, it's advisable to call ahead to confirm if they're open, especially if you need something urgently. While the pharmacy looks great on paper—open late, wheelchair accessible, and with multiple payment options—the reality may not always align with expectations. Crowds can also be a concern, especially during peak hours, which exacerbates the already noted service issues.

Conclusion

In summary, while Well Pharmacy in Glasgow has potential with its accessibility features, multiple payment options, and a few commendable staff members, significant improvements are needed in customer service and reliability. The pharmacy remains a convenient choice, but customers should approach with caution, aware of the varying service quality they might encounter.

The information about opening hours is incorrect. It closes at 6:30 PM in the evening.
Amelia Smith (24/06/2025, 02:39):
Incorrect information regarding opening hours. NHS hospitals are indicating that they are open when it is clear that they are not, causing significant delays in my child's medication treatment as recommended.
Logan Miller (23/06/2025, 08:07):
I've been told my order was ready for pick up, but when I arrived it wasn't there. It's really disappointing, not great customer service at all.
Eugene Hamilton (22/06/2025, 11:52):
I must say, this pharmacy and its staff, particularly the individual working the day shift from 1:00 to 2:00, displayed a notable lack of respect and assistance.

The person in question exhibited a negative attitude and declined to fill my 9-year-old son's prescription.

I am strongly considering reporting this establishment for their evident ignorance and lack of support.

My recommendation would be to seek service elsewhere.

They certainly do not warrant even a single star; the owner should seriously address these issues and contemplate making changes.

Without a doubt, the most disappointing pharmacy experience possible.👎👎👎👎
Allison Morales (21/06/2025, 08:53):
I went to the pharmacy last night, mate, and the sign said they were open until 11pm. But when I got there at 7.30pm, the shutters were down and the lights were off. Bit frustrating, to be honest. Gotta make sure they update their website and signs, innit?
Amy Gomez (18/06/2025, 09:54):
The pharmacist was incredibly helpful, providing me with all the necessary information before contacting 111. When I came back to pick up the prescription and found out that they didn't have the medication prescribed by the doctor, the staff went above and beyond to assist me. They took the initiative to call the NHS on my behalf to resolve the issue. I am truly grateful for their help for both myself and my daughter. The staff, including Marian, Kirsty, and Danielle, were simply amazing.
Juan Scott (17/06/2025, 20:38):
Absolutely dreadful, mate. The pharmacist couldn't fill the dentist's prescription on Monday, so he had to come back on Wednesday. Then on Wednesday, he had to wait a whopping 45 minutes to finally get his meds. Just a right hassle, I tell ya.
Zachary Patterson (16/06/2025, 15:29):
I must say, this pharmacy experience has been quite frustrating. I submitted my prescription over a month ago and only received half of it. They promised to call me once the rest was available, but I never heard from them. Today was my third visit, and now they're saying I need a new prescription because too much time has passed. It's all a bit of a farce, really.
Allison Jackson (15/06/2025, 21:21):
Informed by the team that the registration for minor ailments takes a full hour. Essentially, they are looking to charge you for this service. The staff on Sunday, May 4th, 2025 were incredibly impolite and disrespectful.
Beverly Hamilton (15/06/2025, 17:50):
I must say, I was quite disappointed with the service at this pharmacy, hence the 1-star rating. My 5-year-old daughter seemed to have conjunctivitis, so I decided to take her in just after 7pm tonight.

Upon arrival, I was informed that the pharmacist was on a break and that if I wanted my daughter to be seen, we would have to wait 45 minutes. Considering the late hour and the distance we had to travel, I preferred not to keep my daughter up for too long. Despite this, without even examining my daughter, another staff member handed me eye drops.

I requested for the pharmacist to at least take a quick look at my daughter due to her age, but the response was rather unhelpful. It was disappointing to see that there wasn't a qualified individual available to cover the break of the pharmacist, especially when dealing with a young child.

As a result of the pharmacist's absence, we were unable to receive the drops for minor ailments without payment. Fortunately, we could afford it, but I can't help but think about others who might not be in the same position and would have been left waiting with a tired 5-year-old in pajamas.

Overall, the lacking customer service and unprofessional healthcare experience left much to be desired.
Bruce Carter (15/06/2025, 10:03):
I drove all the way here for half an hour because I was told they stayed open late. Even though the website said they were open until 11pm, when I got there at 10pm, they were already closed.
Isabella Reynolds (14/06/2025, 03:28):
Mhorven, the pharmacist, is truly a gem! Her professionalism, kindness, and care shine through in every interaction. She always makes time to listen and provide assistance, going above and beyond to ensure your needs are met. Mhorven's guidance is invaluable, and her dedication to helping others is truly commendable. She is a true asset to Well Pharmacy, embodying the epitome of a knowledgeable and compassionate professional.
Denise Cox (11/06/2025, 10:53):
Says it's open till 11pm, but I got there at 10 and it was already closed.
Ava Morris (06/06/2025, 07:24):
I've never had an issue with this place. Not sure why there are any negative reviews.
Bobby Thompson (02/06/2025, 22:10):
I would highly recommend giving them a ring before heading over. I drove about 25 minutes to pick up some urgent medication for my little one, trusting that they were open until 11. However, when I arrived at 8pm, I was met with closed shutters and darkness inside.
Wayne Ward (02/06/2025, 19:13):
Appalling treatment of potential customers. My partner urgently required medication for a distressing issue. We arrived at 3 pm and found the door locked, despite their advertised hours until 11 pm. There were apparent customers and staff inside.

An employee approached the door and informed us they were closed. When we explained our urgency and pointed out signs indicating they were open, the employee callously stated they didn't care and instructed us to depart.

Fortunately, we received excellent service and assistance from the pharmacy at Morrisons in Anniesland.
Mary Russell (02/06/2025, 10:26):
The customer service at this establishment is truly appalling, with staff members displaying a lack of courtesy and professionalism.
Barbara Collins (31/05/2025, 15:46):
I went in for my prescription in January and only received half of it. I was instructed to return once I had finished the first batch. When I went back tonight, I was told that I had waited too long. I explained to the staff member that this was the information I had been given, only to be accused of lying. I didn't think they could be worse than Lloyds Pharmacy.
