Exploring Asda Portlethen Superstore: Your One-Stop Shopping Destination

Asda Portlethen Superstore, located in Aberdeen, is an impressive shopping destination that offers a wide array of offerings to cater to all your needs. This store not only provides a convenient shopping experience but also emphasizes accessibility and customer service.

Accessibility Features

The store boasts a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that all customers can easily navigate the premises. With designated space for disabled parking and free parking lot options, convenience is at the forefront of Asda Portlethen’s design.

Product Offerings

Asda Portlethen is known for its great produce and a diverse range of products, including food, clothing, batteries, and essential household items. Customers appreciate the easy access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and bakery items while enjoying the in-store pick-up service for added convenience.

Payment Options and Technology

This superstore embraces modern payment solutions with support for NFC mobile payments, debit cards, and credit cards. Shoppers can enjoy a hassle-free checkout process whether they choose traditional lanes or self-service options. No-contact delivery is also available, providing a safe shopping experience, especially during these times.

Customer Experiences and Highlights

Many customers report positive experiences at Asda Portlethen, citing friendly staff and clean facilities. A visitor shared a delightful moment encountering cheerful staff who remembered their usual orders, showcasing the store's commitment to excellent customer service.

However, mixed reviews about staff interactions highlight areas for improvement. Customers have noted instances of rude service at the kiosk, suggesting a need for enhanced staff training to ensure pleasant interactions.

Cafe and Dining Options

Although Asda does not have a full restaurant, it features a cafe where shoppers have enjoyed affordable meals and snacks. For example, a delicious pizza and latte combo for under £5 has been a hit, proving that good value is attainable even in casual dining.

Sustainability Initiatives

Asda Portlethen makes efforts toward sustainability through initiatives such as recycling programs that encourage customers to return glass bottles and other recyclable materials. This reflects a commitment to environmental responsibility that appeals to conscious shoppers.

Parking and Access

With a large parking area, including free of charge street parking, accessibility is optimized for families and those requiring additional support. Customers, however, have raised concerns about the layout, specifically regarding the safety of pedestrian paths from the parent and toddler parking areas.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Asda Portlethen Superstore serves as a valuable resource for the local community, combining a wide range of products with accessible facilities and services. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in customer service consistency, the store remains a preferred choice for many shoppers looking for quality and convenience in their grocery shopping.

This Christmas, the special pre-ordered Turkey that I had reserved back in November suddenly became unavailable at the last minute. However, the Manager from the Portlethon store reached out to me the following day and organized a special delivery for the Turkey along with a lovely bouquet of Christmas Flowers.

This level of customer service is truly exceptional. I want to extend my warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2019 to all ASDA employees and customers.

The store itself is fine, but they still have that dreadful petrol station cashier. No pleasantries, no politeness, just shouting numbers at you with a scowl on her face. I'll do my best to avoid going there as it's just not the most pleasant experience being served by her.
James Allen (05/08/2025, 13:05):
I was harassed by security, mate, and I've got in touch with the bobbies. Will keep you updated.
Sharon Morris (04/08/2025, 13:36):
At this superb emporium, you'll discover a splendid assortment of essentials such as milk, bread, socks, ice cubes, plants, coffee, onion rings, a delightful toilet brush, frozen apple stroudel, and an array of candles to illuminate your abode. Who knows, you might even stumble upon a few additional treasures during your visit.
Harold Hayes (03/08/2025, 05:27):
Excellent spot to grab some groceries before your dinner gathering!
Amanda Green (03/08/2025, 03:53):
I popped into Supermarket for a quick cup of coffee and a slice of cake. The staff there are always so lovely, and you really get your money's worth!
Henry Lopez (01/08/2025, 08:13):
The store is an absolute disgrace. Manager Martin Green made zero effort to contact me, and manager David was just as disgraceful. No assistance whatsoever. The lady at the kiosk seemed to have no training and couldn't even process a simple return. Often, there were no prices on items. It's clear they couldn't care less.
Charles Sullivan (31/07/2025, 17:18):
We definitely need more fresh fruits and veggies in the supermarket. It would be absolutely splendid to see a wider selection of the finest produce available for all shoppers to enjoy. Let's keep pushing for more variety and quality in our local store!
Aaron Ford (31/07/2025, 16:21):
This superstore is absolutely brilliant. It's tidy and has a great team in place. I visited only once and didn't find exactly what I was looking for... but this place is now my first choice for everything.
The only downside is the plants, always looking a bit sad and dry. They really need to be watered regularly. I believe they could also consider planting some on their premises or donating them to local schools instead of letting them wither away. It's quite heart-breaking.
Heather Kim (30/07/2025, 16:24):
This store has everything you need for baking, drinks, meals, sandwiches, and much more. They offer most items at lower prices compared to other stores, though recently inflation seems to have leveled the prices to be in line with other retailers.
Evelyn Perry (26/07/2025, 09:54):
Popped into Asda to pick up some tumblers I had my eye on. Only needed 2 sets, so decided to check out at the Kiosk since I had the exact change and it wasn't busy. Encountered a very grumpy middle-aged woman with short brown hair and glasses, who quite frankly seemed to lack any kind of charm - I've seen more personality in a paperclip! When I asked if I could pay for the glasses there, she snapped at me with a "Is that all you got?" Then, as I was packing my glasses, she impatiently told me to move aside so she could help the next customer. Even when I tried to strike up a pleasant conversation, all I received in return was hostility and a cold shoulder. Come on Asda, get some friendly faces on the Kiosk pronto!
Martha Gonzales (26/07/2025, 05:35):
Whilst the price of fuel is dropping, ASDA in Scotland are still charging 195.7. Quite the crookery of the first order.
Ella Bennett (23/07/2025, 19:34):
Asda is absolutely brilliant, with a fantastic array of products to choose from. Loads of parking spaces too. Highly recommend it.
Michael Alexander (23/07/2025, 16:16):
The supermarket offers a wide range of non-food products, perfect for all your household needs.
Matthew Hamilton (22/07/2025, 20:45):
My bloke just stumbled upon some glass in his kale, eh! Good thing he spotted it before taking a bite!
Timothy Flores (22/07/2025, 05:22):
The stores and café are impeccably kept, with COVID precautions always in mind. From hot to cold dishes served until 5pm at the café, to the friendly and helpful staff, everything is top-notch. Ample parking spaces are always available, making it incredibly convenient for both locals and travelers heading south. Plus, there's a fuel station to refuel your vehicles.
Vincent Foster (19/07/2025, 00:54):
No baskets near the entrance. Managed to spot one by the till (piled at least 30 high). No bags available at the self-checkout (as usual). Plenty of staff just standing around and chatting, including the managers.
Alexander Parker (18/07/2025, 14:14):
This store is a decent size and even has some shops inside Asda. It's simple to navigate through the store, the parking is great, and the trolley areas by the entrances are always well-stocked, so you can easily grab one. Additionally, there's a fuel station and several eateries nearby.
Carol Graham (17/07/2025, 01:30):
Alright, I reckon the lack of traditional checkouts is pretty nifty.
Kathryn Kim (16/07/2025, 02:43):
Now that's a massive ASDA, mate! They've got the lot, even a chemist, can you believe it?
