Exploring Tesco Extra in Dundee: A Comprehensive Overview

Tesco Extra in Dundee is more than just a supermarket; it’s a hub for community shopping. From in-store pick-up options to a wide range of offerings, this store caters to diverse needs while also ensuring accessibility for all shoppers.

Amenities and Accessibility

This Tesco location boasts wheelchair-accessible entrances, a wheelchair-accessible car park, and facilities, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet. The store layout promotes easy navigation, allowing customers to enjoy a quick visit without hassle. However, there have been mixed reviews regarding the accessibility experience, with some customers expressing concerns about staff behavior in sensitive situations.

Quality Offerings and Shopping Experience

Shoppers appreciate the great produce, fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and household essentials. While some reviews mention that products can be pricier than those at competing stores like Lidl, many agree that the wider selection compensates for the cost. Customers noted that the store carries items often not found elsewhere, making it a valuable resource for various needs.

Payment Options and Technology

Tesco Extra supports modern payment methods such as NFC mobile payments, making transactions quick and convenient. Additionally, the store accepts debit cards and credit cards, ensuring flexible payment choices for customers. Automated payment machines streamline the checkout process, although some visitors commented on the need for more human-operated checkouts.

Customer Service Highlights

The service at Tesco Extra has its highs and lows. Many patrons praise the friendly and helpful staff, especially during busy hours. However, there are instances where customer service falls short, with complaints about unhelpful staff and management issues. Positive experiences often highlight specific employees who enhance the shopping atmosphere with their approachability.

Environmental Considerations

Customers have raised concerns about waste management practices, particularly regarding plastic bags and recycling efforts. The store's commitment to sustainability could be improved by enhancing recycling initiatives and offering more eco-friendly packaging options.

Community Engagement and Inclusivity

Tesco Extra is notable for its commitment to being an LGBTQ+ friendly space and providing a transgender safe space. This inclusivity is appreciated by many customers, creating a welcoming environment for everyone.

Overall, Tesco Extra in Dundee serves as a vital community resource, blending convenience with variety. Tesco never fails to deliver on its promises, just like it says on the tin.
Shirley Jordan (10/08/2025, 09:12):
A supermarket with a covered car park, brilliant for when it's raining.

Immensely vast emporium catering to all your needs for sustenance, household essentials, and fashionable attire.
Noah Allen (06/08/2025, 19:16):
It appears that there may be some managerial issues at this grocery store. I have witnessed employees arguing on several occasions, and when I needed to speak to a manager, it was quite challenging.

However, I must say that parking is convenient and checkout lines are usually short, which is a plus.
Diane Sanders (06/08/2025, 01:43):
Massive selection, ample choices, and zero lines during my recent visit.
Isabella Gonzalez (05/08/2025, 20:54):
Tesco is quite handy when you need items that you can't find at Lidl, but you do tend to get less for your money. The quality of the fruit, vegetables, and meats is noticeably better. They offer a wider selection of products compared to Lidl. However, the prices are higher, and it's definitely worth having a Tesco Club card to make the most of your shopping experience.
Janet Moore (03/08/2025, 20:55):
The checkout operators were absolutely lovely. So chatty and friendly, made my shopping experience a delight!
Jason Cooper (03/08/2025, 08:29):
Always a brilliant experience at this supermarket. The staff is so helpful and friendly, it really makes a difference.
Virginia Reyes (02/08/2025, 12:33):
Yeah, it was alright but a tad on the pricey side, if you ask me.
Samantha Taylor (01/08/2025, 03:21):
I was lucky enough to be served by a young woman named Shareen at the checkout at Tesco South Road Dundee. This delightful lady was incredibly pleasant and helpful. Staff like her truly make the shopping experience a joy.
Heather Gonzalez (30/07/2025, 14:06):
There are plenty of products to choose from here, just like any other Tesco in Aberdeenshire.
Janice Hamilton (29/07/2025, 20:56):
Absolutely smashing, mate. This blog about Supermarkets is a real cracker, innit? I'm proper chuffed to have stumbled upon it. Keep up the brilliant work! Cheers!
Gloria Gutierrez (28/07/2025, 14:54):
The other day, I popped into Tesco for my usual shop and I must say, it was a bit of a disaster. The staff were sneezing over the food, there were no baskets to be found, checkout staff seemed to have verbal diarrhea, there were long queues at the quick checkouts, and don't even get me started on the escalator that never seems to work properly. It's such a shame because Tesco used to be my favorite store, but it looks like I'll have to start shopping elsewhere.
Karen Cooper (25/07/2025, 07:44):
Just like any other Tesco, the staff were friendly enough.
Mark Brown (23/07/2025, 22:26):
First stop on a Saturday morning for a delicious breakfast and the weekly grocery run.
Teresa Reynolds (18/07/2025, 23:21):
Plenty of space, great deals as soon as you walk in, and the staff is super friendly.
Richard Walker (18/07/2025, 19:24):
The checkout staff at this establishment do not seem to grasp simple requests, had to repeat myself three times before the cashier finally paid attention.
Evelyn Gonzalez (17/07/2025, 15:55):
I pop into this shop every fortnight and the staff are ever so friendly, always ready to lend a hand with anything you need. The brand selection is top-notch.
