Asda Leith Superstore: A Comprehensive Review

Located in Edinburgh, the Asda Leith Superstore is a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. With its vast selection of products and convenient service options, it aims to meet all your shopping needs.

Accessibility and Parking

The store boasts a free parking lot which is a significant advantage, especially during peak hours. Additionally, there are provisions for wheelchair-accessible entrances and a wheelchair-accessible car park, making it easy for everyone to access the store.

Product Offerings

Asda Leith is known for its wide range of great produce. Customers can find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to pantry staples such as metal cans and glass bottles. However, some shoppers have reported inconsistencies in the freshness of items, particularly in the fruit and vegetable aisles, with comments pointing to items that were previously marked past their expiration dates.

Service Options and Payments

This supermarket operates 24/7 with self-checkout machines that accept various payment methods including debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments. Unfortunately, there have been issues with customer service; some patrons have experienced rude staff and unhelpful interactions, especially in checkout areas. No-contact delivery is also offered, enhanced by a robust click and collect service for those who prefer shopping online.

Customer Experiences

Feedback about Asda Leith varies widely. Many customers appreciate the quick visit option and the spacious layout of the store. Others highlight the quality of the café, although it has been noted that it is temporarily closed. On the other side, some shoppers have expressed frustration due to the rude behavior of security staff and issues with stock availability, particularly in the frozen and dairy sections.

Recycling and Sustainability

Asda has also introduced initiatives around recycling and reducing plastic use. While some customers have appreciated these efforts, they simultaneously remarked on the excessive plastic packaging in certain product categories.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Asda Leith Superstore provides a comprehensive shopping experience with diverse product offerings, accessible facilities, and several payment options. However, improvements in staff training and inventory management are necessary to elevate customer satisfaction to match the supermarket's potential.
Whether you're popping in for a quick meal or planning a larger shop, Asda Leith strives to be your one-stop destination.

Sophia Myers (04/06/2025, 00:54):
I am quite vexed by the fact that the staff at the supermarket seem to neglect checking the use-by dates on perishable items in the refrigerator. Twice this month, I have purchased yogurts that were already expired by several days. If I lived closer to the store, I would definitely return such items. The yogurt I acquired today had expired on the 6th of March. It is crucial for the supermarket to ensure that they regularly inspect the expiration dates on their products, as it appears that this task is being overlooked by the staff.

I purchased a salad that I believed would be a delightful meal, only to be unpleasantly surprised for the second time by an unsavory addition. It seems that perhaps the manager and staff have a particular fondness for this surprise, but it certainly did not suit my palate. Quite distasteful, I must say.

It's currently 0802 and my click and collect slot was scheduled for 0730 to 0800, but there's still nobody here. I went through the app to notify them of my arrival, but no response. When attempting to ring the store, they simply disconnect the call. What's the point of providing time slots if the service cannot be upheld?

I was quite chuffed with Asda until I caught wind of some unsavory tales, but didn't pay it much mind. Then this evening, I purchased some rice cakes for my little one (Organixs rice cake) and lo and behold, we discovered a live worm in it! I feel dreadful as I had placed my trust in Asda for my wee bairn. Mind yourselves when selecting items for your tiny tots from the supermarkets.
