Exploring Abbey Chemist in Paisley: A Comprehensive Review

When it comes to pharmacy services, Abbey Chemist in Paisley has become a notable player in the community. While many customers praise the staff for their helpfulness and dedication, there are also some concerns regarding wait times and service options. This article delves into various aspects of the pharmacy, highlighting both the positive features and areas needing improvement.

NFC Mobile Payments: A Modern Convenience

One of the standout features of Abbey Chemist is its incorporation of NFC mobile payments. This innovative payment method allows customers to make transactions quickly and securely without the need to handle cash or cards physically. For those who prefer a contactless experience, this option adds a layer of convenience when picking up prescriptions and other health-related products.

Service Options: Variety and Availability

The pharmacy offers several service options, including prescription delivery and a robotic prescription dispenser that enhances efficiency. Customers have often noted the convenience of being able to collect medication at any time with the robot system. However, feedback suggests that staffing levels could be better managed to ensure timely service, especially during peak hours when the waiting room can become congested.

Accessibility: Meeting Customer Needs

Accessibility is crucial for a pharmacy, especially for individuals with mobility challenges. Abbey Chemist features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, making it easier for all customers to access vital services. Despite these facilities, reviews indicate that some customers still face challenges with long wait times and crowded conditions, which could negatively impact the overall experience.

Payments: Flexibility for Everyone

Abbey Chemist accepts multiple payment methods, including debit cards and credit cards. This flexibility ensures that customers can choose how they wish to pay, making it easier for everyone to access their medications and health products. Nevertheless, some reviews highlight issues with the efficiency of service that can lead to frustrating wait times.

Delivery Services: A Double-Edged Sword

While the pharmacy provides delivery services, customer experiences vary greatly. Some have reported timely deliveries, while others have faced significant delays, leading to critical situations where patients were left without necessary medications. Customers with disabilities have shared stories about the importance of reliable delivery, emphasizing the need for improvements in this area to ensure everyone receives their medications on time.

Conclusion: A Community Resource with Room for Improvement

In summary, Abbey Chemist in Paisley stands out as a community resource with its NFC mobile payments, variety of service options, and commitment to accessibility. However, it faces challenges related to wait times and service consistency. For the pharmacy to maintain its reputation and serve the community effectively, addressing these concerns will be essential. With dedicated staff and a robust service model, Abbey Chemist can undoubtedly improve the customer experience and continue to be a valued asset in Paisley.

I say, what a chaotic situation! Yesterday, a dosette box meant for a vulnerable patient with dementia was not delivered, leaving the poor soul without their medication that evening. I shall have to pop by the Lonend branch to investigate this perplexing matter further.

Upon my visit, I had a box hastily prepared, but to my dismay, the pharmacist brazenly fibbed about the delay, unjustly pointing fingers at the medical practice. After a quick phone call to the said practice, it was revealed that the prescription was indeed ready on the 29th and promptly collected by the pharmacy. Quite the conundrum, don't you agree?
Karen Cruz (09/08/2025, 12:41):
I would suggest steering clear of this pharmacy if possible. There are more welcoming and efficient pharmacies in Paisley. The staff can be quite dismissive and fail to prioritize customers' time, often only completing part of the orders and expecting customers to make a return trip.
Hannah Martinez (07/08/2025, 15:28):
I frequently find myself waiting about twenty minutes for my prescriptions, with no word of apology. When I raised this issue with the pharmacist, she simply mentioned that there were other customers ahead of me. However, I believe that this response is unsatisfactory as this seems to be a recurring problem. It appears that customers are always left waiting, and having more staff could definitely enhance the overall customer satisfaction. This has been my least favorite pharmacy experience so far.
Christian Wright (01/08/2025, 16:32):
I found myself in a bind with my prescription running low, but the staff at the pharmacy were incredibly helpful. They provided me with a week's worth of the medication I had run out of. Thank you!
Beverly Morris (30/07/2025, 18:26):
I always find myself standing in long lines and waiting whenever I pop into this place. It seems like they could benefit from either extending their store or hiring more hands on deck. The length of time spent waiting can really drag on. However, besides that inconvenience, I haven't faced any other issues. I'm awarding it 3 stars as I tend to get a bit antsy when it comes to queuing up.
Sara Myers (29/07/2025, 19:48):
The top pharmacy in Paisley, no doubt about it.
Brandon Myers (29/07/2025, 11:46):
Overall very helpful, although I did have a negative interaction with one of the staff members.
Janet Cox (28/07/2025, 17:59):
The surgery next door is just a bunch of stuck-up and high-maintenance folks - but I gotta hand it to ya, your service is top-notch.
Betty Perez (28/07/2025, 11:02):
I have never encountered a more inept and gloomy group of employees. It's the third occasion they have failed to locate my prescription sent by the GP. I have now registered at a different pharmacy. I highly recommend avoiding this place!
Debra Nelson (25/07/2025, 18:56):
I often make a stop at this pharmacy and the service is quite appalling. Despite there being more staff than customers most of the time, the new robotic dispensing system seems to be the star of the show. However, this has come at the expense of customer service, which has really taken a nosedive. It's rare to find someone available to assist real customers, and after reading the negative reviews from dissatisfied customers, it seems the owner's attempts to defend and shift blame are quite disheartening. This situation has been ongoing for months now, with repeat prescriptions taking a whopping 72 hours to process! Get it together, folks. I rate this place 1 star, but wish there was an option for zero.
Maria Anderson (25/07/2025, 14:23):
I would be absolutely gutted without Brian.
I'm really missing Helen.
Brian usually drops by around 11:30 or 11:33.
Not keen on dealing with strangers when Brian's not around.
Louis Cox (24/07/2025, 07:18):
I must say, this pharmacy can get quite crowded, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Nonetheless, the staff members are absolutely fantastic. They are so helpful and willing to assist with anything you need. Additionally, the automated prescription dispenser located outside is truly revolutionary. Simply sign up, receive a code, and pick up your prescription whenever it suits you. It operates round the clock, making it super convenient.
William Ford (22/07/2025, 12:26):
Fantastic pharmacy, the team is always welcoming even when they're extremely busy, and they're open on Saturdays too.
Alice Hernandez (22/07/2025, 08:11):
Having relocated to Paisley a little over 5 years back, I found myself struggling with the local pharmacies. Thankfully, my neighbor suggested Abbey Chemist @ Lonend, and I must say, the team there is absolutely outstanding. They truly go the extra mile in providing assistance, making my life much easier. A big thank you to them! :)
Louis Johnson (19/07/2025, 23:05):
Now that the automatic medicine dispenser is up and running smoothly, things have quieted down a bit. However, there always seems to be someone waiting for their medication, no matter what.
Jordan King (19/07/2025, 05:25):
The only way to receive decent service at this pharmacy is if you happen to be a drug user seeking methadone treatment. If you're not contributing to their profits through your government-sponsored addiction, they simply won't bother.

They prefer to neglect disabled customers who require a regular prescription, leaving them without necessary medications month after month. Their management skills are abysmal, they couldn't even handle a simple raffle!
Carl Taylor (15/07/2025, 06:02):
Despite being a managed prescription, it seems like it's never ready these days. Every time I go, it feels like everyone in line in front and behind me gets served and leaves while I'm left waiting like a plumb until I become frustrated. This was never an issue before, but it's an absolute mess nowadays.

I went in on Tuesday to pick up a prescription, which the staff managed to lose right in front of me. They then told me they would call me back. As if! It's now Thursday and still no news.

I understand that Covid may be causing longer wait times, but it doesn't excuse the carelessness and poor service.
Hannah Hall (12/07/2025, 07:10):
I must say, the wait times at this pharmacy are quite lengthy, even when you find yourself as the sole customer in the establishment. It seems that regardless of whether you're picking up a prescription or simply purchasing a lollipop, you can expect to wait a solid 15 minutes for your order to be prepared. Quite the conundrum, if you ask me! 😋
Albert Anderson (10/07/2025, 16:01):
Absolutely useless, I must say. I've visited this pharmacy a few times before and after COVID-19. Today, I had to wait in a very long queue outside for an hour just for two people to enter and exit. Can you believe it? Is this the standard we're at in terms of healthcare? It's a complete joke. This place should honestly be closed down as it's not up to par with its intended purpose. The service was just as bad before COVID-19 - it took me 55 minutes once just to get a simple set of pills from the shelf.
Eugene Young (07/07/2025, 11:43):
The staff at this pharmacy is simply top-notch! Their level of helpfulness is always deeply appreciated by myself. Cheers!
