Exploring Boots: Your Ultimate Beauty Supply Store in Edinburgh

If you're in Edinburgh and on the lookout for a reliable beauty supply store, look no further than Boots located at Craigleith. This store offers a variety of products ranging from cosmetics to health supplies, but it’s important to be aware of the experiences shared by previous customers.

In-Store Shopping and Accessibility Features

Boots is designed for convenience, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and ample parking space, including a wheelchair-accessible car park. When you step inside, you will find a clean, well-organized store, although some customers have expressed concerns regarding accessibility during peak hours.

Payment Options Available

The store supports multiple payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This versatility ensures that you can make your purchases with ease. However, it is worth noting that some customers have faced issues with service at the checkout, which can sometimes lead to long wait times.

In-Store Pick-Up and Quick Visits

For those who prefer quick shopping trips, Boots offers an in-store pick-up option for online orders. While this can save time, customers have reported frustrations with inaccurate notifications, leading to wasted trips. A few individuals found themselves waiting longer than expected to collect their prescriptions, emphasizing the need for improved queue management.

Customer Service Experience

Unfortunately, feedback about customer service has been mixed. While some staff members have been noted for their helpfulness, others have been described as rude or dismissive. For instance, a recent review mentioned a particularly unpleasant encounter where a member of staff was short-tempered when addressing a customer’s inquiry.

Pharmacy Services and Wait Times

The pharmacy within Boots is often busy, and customers have reported long wait times, sometimes exceeding 30 minutes just to collect prescriptions. Several reviews highlight that despite the presence of multiple staff members, service efficiency remains a significant concern.

Accessibility Amenities

Boots provides various amenities that cater to its customers' needs, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet. However, there have been complaints about the hygiene and upkeep of these facilities, indicating a potential area for improvement.

Delivery Services and Future Improvements

While Boots offers delivery services, feedback suggests a need for more reliable communication regarding order status. Customers have expressed frustration over missing notifications about ready prescriptions or products.

Conclusion

In summary, Boots at Craigleith offers a vast selection of beauty and health products, complemented by convenient payment options and accessibility features. However, the store must address ongoing concerns regarding customer service and wait times to enhance the shopping experience. Whether you are planning a quick visit or stopping by for an extensive shopping trip, being mindful of these aspects can help mitigate any potential challenges.

These boots are absolutely fabulous for all your health, medication, and beauty product needs. The staff is top-notch as well!
Austin Williams (02/07/2025, 06:45):
The lady at the No7 counter at Craigleith on the 6th of August was absolutely fabulous! She was a real gem, providing some wonderful advice on makeup selection, especially considering I don't typically wear much makeup. Thanks to her help, I was able to achieve the perfect look for my 30th anniversary date night. A million thanks, you've gained yourself one happy customer! 😊
Mary Collins (29/06/2025, 04:51):
Decent sized shop, stocks pretty much everything you might need, although not quite as large as the one on Princes Street.
Emma Diaz (29/06/2025, 04:46):
The service at the pharmacy is so dreadfully slow, it's simply not acceptable. It's a recurring issue that keeps popping up in countless reviews. Boots, you really ought to look into this matter post haste.
Paul King (27/06/2025, 22:45):
Lovely little chemist, charming store
Exceptional customer care.
Steven Barnes (25/06/2025, 19:47):
I popped into the beauty supply store to redeem my Boots card for a new fragrance, but encountered an unhelpful cashier. She insisted that I present my physical Boots card, as she couldn't input the number from the advantage card barcode on my phone. It seems like this Boots staff member isn't equipped to handle digital cards, so keep that in mind when visiting! 🙄😏
Joshua Martinez (23/06/2025, 21:19):
I often pop into Boots to get my weight checked every week, but their scales have been out of order for the past 3 weeks. Last week, a staff member mentioned they were waiting for an engineer to fix them, yet when I spoke to a manager, he seemed clueless about the situation. I made it clear that this had been an ongoing issue for two weeks already. It's been another week now, and the scales are still not fixed.

The customer service was really lacking, and it felt like they weren't bothered about keeping me informed on when the scales would be repaired.
Ruth Hamilton (20/06/2025, 09:15):
I must say, I am getting quite frustrated with the pharmacy here. I often receive my prescriptions from the doctor's office days in advance, yet when I go to collect them, they are not ready. I understand they can be busy, but a little acknowledgment of my wait and some eye contact would go a long way. They may be qualified pharmacists, but they are also in a customer-facing role. They could take a page out of the book of their colleagues in the retail part of Boots.

Once again, I have experienced poor service at this pharmacy. I went to pick up my necessary medication only to be given the wrong items. I had two prescriptions waiting, but they only gave me one. Now I have to go back, wait in the never-ending queue AGAIN, and most likely have to fight to prove that another prescription is waiting for me, even though my doctor's office has confirmed it is there! Get it together Boots Craigleith!!!!
Joshua Murphy (17/06/2025, 22:14):
I'm feeling quite generous with the stars today, as they do offer a decent selection at a variety of price points. One would hope there are some hardworking and polite staff members present, wouldn't you agree?
However, like many others have mentioned, I too experienced long wait times at the checkout, with queues forming and staff appearing short-tempered and irritable.
Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.
Edward Foster (15/06/2025, 10:56):
They don't always have everything I need in stock. Nevertheless, the staff members are typically quite helpful, and today the lady at the register was especially so. Thank you!
Elizabeth Reyes (15/06/2025, 06:16):
Boots is simply Boots - offering all your pharmacy essentials along with a sprinkle of gift inspiration. The unique charm of this Boots lies in its surroundings - nestled in an out-of-town retail hub that's surprisingly accessible, with big names like M&S, Sainsbury's, Homebase, and Clarks nearby. It's like a high street experience minus the flash and dazzle. A down-to-earth store in a convenient spot.
Brandon Nguyen (15/06/2025, 05:10):
Great selection of products. Didn't have to wait too long for my prescription.
Julia Reyes (14/06/2025, 05:32):
Fantastic service at this beauty supply store! The staff is incredibly helpful, especially in the pharmacy section. The shop is clean and easy to navigate around. Highly recommended!
Allison Morales (13/06/2025, 06:51):
I came across some plasters in the bin labeled 49p, but when I reached the checkout, the attendant kindly informed me that they were priced "from 49p". If that's the case, why doesn't Boots place their bottles of Chanel No5 perfume in the same section?
Eric Edwards (12/06/2025, 13:07):
There never seems to be enough staff at the Craigleith Edinburgh location. However, when I do manage to find someone, they are always incredibly helpful.
Stephanie Perez (11/06/2025, 03:41):
I must say, the queue management at the pharmacy was simply dreadful. The staff were rather rude and seemed to completely overlook my presence. As I stood there waiting at the medicines counter, they continued to ignore me, frantically flitting about the chaotic pharmacy queue. I would highly suggest seeking out another branch with more attentive and helpful staff.
Logan Bennett (06/06/2025, 23:22):
I must say, the experience I had at Boots pharmacy was absolutely dreadful. I went in to get some antibiotic eye drops for my elderly father, and was met with a young, inexperienced staff member who refused to provide them because I couldn't prove that his eyes were infected with conjunctivitis. I mean, come on, I'm not a doctor! And eye drops aren't exactly hard to come by. The atmosphere in there was cold and unwelcoming, and the staff seemed completely indifferent to my concerns. Definitely won't be going back there anytime soon!
Tyler Johnson (06/06/2025, 02:45):
I rang for a good half hour, but no one answered. I eventually got through to the general line and was told they were swamped. I inquired about my prescription and was assured it was ready. However, when I arrived to pick it up, they were closed for an hour lunch break with no staff on duty. To top it off, after their break, I was made to wait an extra 15-20 minutes for them to prepare my medicine. Meanwhile, my taxi was waiting to take me back home. Quite frustrating, I must say!
Andrea Price (05/06/2025, 23:32):
The opticians in the store were so incredibly helpful when my daughter forgot her contact lenses.
Russell Phillips (02/06/2025, 20:05):
Clearly marked one-way system. It's a breeze to come in and pick up your prescription. They're excellent at reordering and managing repeat prescriptions, and they shoot you a text when it's all set for pick-up.
