I popped into this fine establishment today and splurged a pretty penny, yet felt like my patronage was as inconsequential as a drop in the ocean to Asda. There was only one checkout attendant on duty, with a queue forming of individuals such as myself who prefer traditional service over the temperamental self-checkout machines. Truly, just one checkout attendant!?

Let's provide customers with options, shall we? Instead of herding us towards self-service, let us choose how we wish to conduct our transactions.

I visited this Supermarket a few days ago and was disappointed with the customer service. It took me 5 minutes just to find a staff member to help me get a bag, and then they had to print a new receipt because apparently bags are frequently stolen here. I would recommend going to another Asda, as I do not plan on returning to this one again.

I must say, I advise you to reconsider before giving this click and collect service a go. My order seemed to have simply "vanished" from their system, and now I have to wait three whole days for a refund. (Clearly it's all processed on my end) There doesn't seem to be a manager in sight, and the apologies or explanations are few and far between. Absolutely dreadful service. Quite the inconvenience, if you ask me.

Yesterday, I visited the supermarket and needed to use the facilities. As I entered the restroom, a gentleman in a white cook's jacket emerged from one of the stalls and left without washing his hands. Initially, I assumed he was just another customer, but to my dismay, he turned out to be the individual responsible for crafting the delicious pizzas at the supermarket. Quite concerning indeed.

My driver and Deliveroo rider were amazing. However, Asda gave me poor quality produce. The bread only had one day left before expiration. Normally priced at £0.85, but I ended up paying a markup of £1.37. The delivery arrived at 9pm on the 10th, with the best before date being the 11th. Just a day! Now I understand why Asda has only three stars. I forgot to check the milk, but I will do so soon. Disappointed. I only resorted to using them because I urgently needed essentials for my baby and myself. Quite disappointing.

They've actually gotten even worse.

Sometimes you go in and there's no milk, other times they're restocking right in the middle of rush hour.

Products seem to be playing musical chairs, with no rhyme or reason. Why is a single brand of ice cream hanging out between the chips and ready meals when there's a whole freezer section just across the aisle for ice cream?

You've got some staff members who are on top of their game, while others get sidetracked chatting with friends or interrupt you while you're scanning items to approve restricted ones. Let the customers have some space to breathe, mate.

Not the best experience at Asda. I visited at 8 pm on a Friday and was disappointed to find that there were no regular checkouts open due to a lack of staff. This made it difficult, especially when doing a larger grocery shop. Even at the self-checkout, I had to wait for a staff member to provide me with bags, as they were being held back for security reasons. This policy was not in place at my local store, and I found it inconvenient.
I believe that inconveniencing all customers because of a few thieves is not the right approach. Asda should have alternative measures in place, such as involving the police or ensuring their security guards are more vigilant. Despite the store being well-stocked and clean, the poor customer service experience left a bad impression on me. I would rate it 2 stars. Thankfully, I do not reside in this area and will not be visiting this Asda location again.

Oh dear, I must say, their constant rearranging of the store is becoming quite the nuisance. Just the other day, they up and shifted nearly every single item to an entirely different section without so much as a warning. The staff seem rather nonchalant when you inquire about the new whereabouts of your staples.

And don't get me started on the self-serve checkout fiasco. Now, they've gone and done away with providing bags, leaving us customers lingering awkwardly as we wait for an attendant to come over and 'scan it for you', completely defeating the purpose of it being SELF-serve.

As if that wasn't enough, one can never seem to find a basket available; one must traipse into the depths of the store to procure one from the checkout counter.

It's almost as if they're actively striving to make our shopping endeavors more tedious. To add insult to injury, they've ceased stocking Quinoa! Oh, the horror.

Upon completing my training at the security guard academy, I was honored to be assigned to Asda. After spending two days redirecting elderly and disabled individuals who were going the wrong way around the barriers, a fellow insider informed me that the team celebrates these small victories as if they had just dismantled an international biscuit smuggling ring. It's all in good fun, but perhaps they should consider easing up on the thorough body checks for children and seniors. Some are beginning to form less-than-favorable and unprintable opinions of their tactics! 😂

Well, I must say, this store is a tad lacking in cleanliness and organization, which makes me inclined to steer clear of shopping there in person. I attempted an online order recently, only to be let down once again. My usual go-to, Waitrose, outshines them vastly with their system that prevents you from checking out items not available at your local store, allowing for more informed choices. Contrastingly, with Asda, I received an email merely 10 minutes prior to delivery listing the canceled items. If I had been forewarned, I wouldn't have bothered placing the order, as I ended up paying delivery for scant results.

I recently popped into the store for just 4 items and ended up spending 15 minutes there. The morning staff were incredibly lazy, standing around at the self-checkouts for at least 10 minutes. I had to repeatedly ask a woman to move so I could access the age verification for my energy drink purchase, and even then I had to wait for security to come over. It was quite frustrating that none of the other staff members who walked by offered to assist, especially since the store wasn't busy at the time. I'm very disappointed with the service at this Asda location and doubt I'll be returning anytime soon. Quite unfortunate, really...

It's an Asda, so you mostly know what to expect. It's a bit on the smaller side, but they do have a decent clothing section and a Greggs bakery.

I'm not a fan of the recent change with the bags. Now, you can't just grab them yourself; you have to wait for a staff member to come over and scan them first. The impoliteness of withholding bags until the staff member presses a button on the self-checkout machine is quite disrespectful.

By and large, the staff members at this supermarket are quite good. However, I recently had an encounter with a gentleman named Ernie that left me feeling rather frustrated. I work nearby and often shop for clients who are isolating at home. Due to my physical limitations, I am unable to carry heavy loads, so I typically take the shopping trolley around the corner and return it promptly.

On this particular occasion, Ernie decided to follow me and accused me of theft. He mentioned that he is disabled and therefore capable of carrying items himself. Despite my reassurances and invitation for him to watch me return the trolley, he persisted in his accusations. I understand that he was simply doing his job, but his approach was unnecessary.

I tried to explain that I would only have the trolley for a few minutes, but Ernie insisted on escalating the situation by involving his supervisor. There was a distinct lack of kindness shown, especially during these challenging times. I even went as far as recording the entire interaction to have a record of his behavior.

Just because someone is disabled and able to carry heavy loads doesn't mean that everyone has the same capabilities. I hope that in the future, the staff at this supermarket will show more understanding and compassion towards customers with different needs.

I must say, the product selection at the ASDA in Edinburgh may be smaller compared to others, but it packs quite a punch. The staff is incredibly helpful, particularly when you show them some respect. Despite being swamped during peak hours, customer service remains top-notch. And let's not forget about the prices at ASDA - consistently lower than competitors, and the quality of their own-brand products is impressive. Shopping there is truly a delight!

I utilize this ASDA for my Click and Collect orders and I must say, I haven't encountered any significant issues. Occasionally, there are some peculiar substitutions, but the team is quite amiable and courteous. It would be beneficial to have additional bays for Click and Collect, though.

Fantastic supermarket! Open 24/7 with self-checkout options. Prices are quite reasonable. The store is spacious, clean, and well-organized. They have a large parking lot and even a petrol station on site. You can find a help desk and opticians available as well. Their Click & Collect service is very convenient. Although the cafe is currently closed, the staff is friendly and welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere overall.
