Exploring Asda Dunfermline Superstore: A Comprehensive Overview

Asda Dunfermline Superstore, located in Fife, presents a blend of great produce, clothing options, and varying service options for its customers. However, several comments from visitors reveal a mix of experiences that highlight both strengths and weaknesses of this supermarket.

Payment Options & Accessibility

One of the notable features at Asda is the variety of payment methods available. Customers can utilize credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments at checkout. Additionally, the store offers wheelchair-accessible entrances and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that all customers can access their favorite products without hassle. However, some reviews suggest a need for improved organization, particularly regarding customer service and the availability of staff during peak hours. Several shoppers have reported long waits at self-service checkouts, pointing out that they felt they were doing the job of the cashiers themselves.

Store Highlights and Offerings

Asda Dunfermline boasts a wide range of offerings, from groceries to household items. Many customers appreciate the store's in-store pick-up for online orders, although experiences have varied significantly. Some shoppers have noted issues with inventory, mentioning that certain shelves appear empty, which may diminish the shopping experience. Despite these drawbacks, many visitors still enjoy a quick visit to grab essentials. The food section is particularly praised for its selection of fresh items, although inconsistent stock levels have been a concern.

Customer Service Experience

The overall sentiment surrounding customer service at Asda Dunfermline has been mixed. While some customers received helpful assistance from staff members, others reported encountering rudeness and a lack of training among employees. One review stated, "Staff could do with some customer service training," highlighting incidents where customers felt dismissed or undervalued. Furthermore, the condition of the restrooms has been a recurring point of criticism, with numerous reports stating they were not well maintained. Cleanliness remains a key area needing improvement to enhance the shopper experience.

Sustainability Efforts: Recycling and More

Asda has been making strides towards sustainability, offering options for recycling glass bottles and other materials. However, customers have pointed out that more efforts are needed in this area, especially concerning the management of plastic products and recycling initiatives.

Conclusion: Room for Improvement

In summary, while Asda Dunfermline Superstore provides a comprehensive shopping experience with a variety of food and clothing options, it faces challenges in customer service and cleanliness. Enhancements in staff training, inventory management, and restroom maintenance could significantly elevate the shopping experience. As feedback suggests, many customers continue to weigh their shopping choices, balancing convenience with service quality. For now, it remains crucial for Asda management to address these concerns and improve overall customer satisfaction.

The store is decent enough, and the staff are quite pleasant. However, I must say that every time I visit the restroom in this establishment, it is quite disappointing. Currently, there are 5 ladies' restrooms accessible to the public. Sadly, 3 of them are not functioning, and the other 2 are absolutely filthy. The overall cleanliness is lacking, with a grimy floor and a constant line for the toilets. They are hardly flushed, which is quite revolting.

Oh blimey, what a kerfuffle at the ol' supermarket, I tell ya! Tried to peruse the clobber, but the changing rooms were shut tight on account of a leak. Left us feeling like proper paupers outside the door, we did. And the staff? Not exactly a cheerful bunch, let me tell you. More interested in tickin' boxes than lendin' a hand, if you catch my drift. We're from Anstruther, so poppin' back ain't exactly a hop, skip, and a jump away. If it weren't for needing these bits for our holiday, I'd say steer clear of that Dunfermline sale, no doubt about it. Right miffed, we are.
Cynthia Watson (14/07/2025, 18:55):
The customer service is generally top-notch and the store is pretty well-stocked.
Zachary Murphy (12/07/2025, 04:15):
No cashiers! Went shopping on 14/09/23 with my disabled 86-year-old mum to discover 13 people waiting and only one checkout open. This isn't the first time this has happened. The staff are terrible when you raise concerns, I've even had a supposed manager claim she wasn't trained to operate a till. I was advised to complain at the front desk, but I simply abandoned the shopping. I hope they had fun putting it back on the shelves! Won't be returning to this store, will opt for Tesco from now on. This store has truly declined!!!
Edward Powell (07/07/2025, 12:50):
This supermarket is decent enough, but the shelves always seem to be missing items during the day. It's not that they're out of stock in the back, it's just poorly organized and managed.
Allison Brooks (06/07/2025, 21:48):
Terrible experience at the supermarket today - no tills were open so I had to scan my own groceries after a long day of work. And on top of that, they don't offer deposits for recycling plastic. Absolutely dreadful.
Kimberly Morris (05/07/2025, 13:16):
Not open 24 hours today. Opens at 8. The website is incorrect.
Amber Turner (02/07/2025, 23:54):
I found some great food deals at the supermarket, like cans of Tiger chicken in jelly cat food for only 47 pence each! This is perfect for wild hedgehog feeding.
Mia Jenkins (02/07/2025, 20:53):
Huge asda superstore, loads of stock available. Great lighting and plenty of staff on hand to assist. Several self scanners are ready for use, making checkouts a breeze. Plus, there's a McDonald's inside the asda store which is always a bonus.
Raymond Martinez (01/07/2025, 05:37):
I quite like Asda in general, but it's really frustrating not having enough manned tills. I'm not an employee, so why should I have to do the cashier's job?
Christian Flores (30/06/2025, 22:06):
The jet wash at the petrol station is never filled with the right detergent, you know. It's only after you've paid for the wash that you realize. I've stopped using Asda because of this, mate.
Timothy Young (28/06/2025, 17:59):
No checkouts were open, using self-service was a total nightmare, and the staff were quite rude.
Brittany Kim (27/06/2025, 20:11):
As per usual, all the staff here are so helpful not just to me, but probably to everyone else as well... Fantastic place for a spot of shopping... I'll certainly be popping back again soon...
Harper James (23/06/2025, 04:17):
Arrived to find it closed...24 hours my foot
Brandon Rodriguez (19/06/2025, 20:38):
Aye, this store is quite handy for those long journeys through bonnie Scotland. Could do with a wee bit of sprucing up though. The loos could definitely use an upgrade.
Rachel Baker (18/06/2025, 08:28):
I don't usually shop at this store for clothes, and I definitely won't be returning. The staff were very rude and accused me of bringing in more than 4 items, which wasn't true. A small older woman seemed to enjoy being impolite to customers. The changing room was disgusting; I had to remove someone else's shoes before trying on clothes. There was dirt that clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while, with labels, coat hangers, and stickers covered in grime scattered on the floor. It was a total disgrace. I've shopped at many other stores and have never seen such poor cleanliness standards. When I finally decided to make a purchase, the staff were nowhere to be found; when I did locate them, they were chatting with colleagues from a different department. Very poor service indeed.
Theresa James (15/06/2025, 09:15):
I popped into the store on 19/01/25 and found that the shelves were quite bare. I managed to grab what I needed, but there were quite a few items missing. I don't usually shop here, so I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence for a Sunday around 4:30 in the afternoon?
Grace Harris (12/06/2025, 18:25):
Whilst shopping on a Friday night with the missus, we happened to spot a cheeky robin flitting about the supermarket. Although the bird seemed content and posed no bother to us, it could certainly ruffle some feathers if it decides to leave its mark on someone's loaf or nibble on the fresh produce.
Emma Stewart (07/06/2025, 05:18):
Oh, what a dreadful situation! I found myself in dire need of Gavasicon for my heartburn, and arrived at the supermarket at 11:52 pm, only to be informed by the security guard that the store was closed. I explained that all I required was Gaviscon and that I would be swift, but regrettably, he denied me access. It is puzzling why the store would advertise being open until midnight if this were the case.
Alexander Jones (05/06/2025, 03:35):
I must say, I have had the most dreadful experience at this particular supermarket. The staff seem to lack basic manners and are quite lazy, unable to rectify incorrectly priced items despite numerous notifications. On top of that, there have been instances where items were not even labeled with prices. I have never encountered such a poorly managed superstore in all my years.
