Exploring Morrisons Supermarket in Glasgow: A Mixed Bag of Experiences

Morrisons, a well-known supermarket chain in the UK, has been a staple for locals in Glasgow. However, recent feedback indicates a downturn in certain aspects of its service and offerings. From clothing to food, let's delve into the highlights and challenges faced by this supermarket.

Store Layout and Accessibility

One consistent theme among customers is the curious layout of the store. Many shoppers find it challenging to navigate through the aisles, noting that some areas feel cramped due to narrow paths. Moreover, the wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible toilet are critical for ensuring that all customers can shop comfortably, but improvements are still needed.

Product Availability and Quality

Despite being praised for their great produce, several comments highlight persistent issues with empty shelves. Customers express frustration over the lack of stocked items, especially at peak shopping times. It seems that while some areas like the salad bar are consistently fresh, staples in other sections often run low.

Payments and Customer Service Challenges

The checkout experience at Morrisons has garnered mixed reviews. Some customers have encountered problems with payments, specifically with credit cards and debit cards not processing correctly. There are complaints about the customer service team's responsiveness, particularly when it comes to resolving payment issues or acknowledging customer queries.

Inclusivity and Friendly Environment

Morrisons has made strides in creating an LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere, offering a transgender safe space within its stores. This commitment to inclusivity is commendable, yet there are reports of staff interactions that sometimes detract from the overall customer experience.

Amenities and Additional Services

This supermarket also offers a range of service options including a pharmacy and facilities for recycling glass bottles. The availability of NFC mobile payments and no-contact delivery options enhances convenience for tech-savvy shoppers.

Delivery and In-Store Options

While many appreciate the option for in-store pick-up, the delivery service has faced criticism due to inconsistent stock levels and delays. Shoppers looking for a quick visit sometimes leave frustrated if their items are unavailable.

Conclusion: A Call for Improvement

In conclusion, while Morrisons in Glasgow holds potential with its diverse offerings and community-oriented services, a noticeable decline in product availability and customer service creates a precarious situation. With proper management and attention to customer feedback, this supermarket can reclaim its reputation as a favorite local shopping destination.

The store ain't too bad, but the pharmacy, oh my word, what a laugh! The staff there move slower than molasses. It's enough to drive you bonkers!

This is my favourite corner shop, I pop in every single day and without fail I get shadowed not only by security, but also by a manager, a staff member from the floor and even the security guard! The staff always seem stern and unwelcoming 👎 ...

The Timsons employees can be a bit rude, I must say. The cashiers at Morrisons aren't much help, especially when it's busy. And those multibuy deals always seem like a scam - they'll try to charge you full price at the register! Don't even get me started on the shelf stickers - they're never right, and then the smug staff have the nerve to tell you it's actually more expensive in such a condescending way. On the bright side, the folks at the petrol station are always polite and willing to lend a hand.

Lorraine, the Manager, displayed outstanding empathy when a young family had to return a children's pool that developed a leak. She took charge of locating the purchase details after the family misplaced the receipt. Since it was quite costly, it could have been a challenging and distressing experience for the young family, but Lorraine went above and beyond to address the issue. Thank you, Lorraine.

The staff at this Morrison's were quite friendly and helpful. It's one of the biggest Morrison's I've ever been to, and it had a wide variety of products. The only downside was that it was Boxing Day, and all the best items were already sold out.
Christina Jordan (03/08/2025, 01:46):
No hand sanitiser at the entrance. Decent selection of products. Not too crowded, but only 2 cashiers open. Prefer shopping here over Aldi, as it was too hectic. Still no hand sanitiser at the entrance and no one bothers to clean their shopping cart.
Ethan Morales (01/08/2025, 12:49):
Once again, I visited the supermarket only to be disappointed by the lack of stock and the generally messy shelves.
Jean Scott (30/07/2025, 14:24):
I quite fancy Morrisons, but I found the layout a tad peculiar, and I must admit I had a bit of a challenge locating a few items on my own. The quality of the produce is top-notch, however, I couldn't help but arch an eyebrow at the sight of cakes and biscuits nestled among the fruits and veggies. Not the most cohesive message, if you ask me. Those Halloween cookies did look rather charming though! 🎃

I went to get some lamb mince but they were all out, so I asked the butcher if he could mince some lamb steaks for me. He said no, it's not allowed. Seems like he's more of a shelf filler for pre-packaged meats than a real butcher. I'll be taking my business to a proper butcher from now on.
Bryan Patterson (26/07/2025, 23:35):
The signage off the M74 onto A8 is absolutely dreadful, isn't it? The first sign you see is right at the entrance, and those tight turns into the car park clearly show that the planners only had cars in mind, not larger vehicles. Apart from that, it's still a decent shop.
Peter Kim (25/07/2025, 20:50):
Alright, mate. So 'ere's the dish - Chicken tends to 'ave a fair bit of water in it once it's been cooked. The selection of seafood is a bit underwhelming, not quite up to scratch in terms of quality and bang for your buck like it used to be. Them multibuy deals can be a right pain in the arse. Bananas always seem to be as green as grass. Fruit prices are a bit steep if ya ask me. On the bright side, the rotisserie section is top-notch. Cheers!
Gregory Ross (24/07/2025, 20:57):
Charming tidy shop & not too busy. A few without masks though 😠. Good assortment of everything I needed and then some. Will definitely be returning for my shopping.
Sara Campbell (24/07/2025, 18:52):
I used to adore this market, been a regular since day one, but the standards have really dropped lately! Shelves are consistently bare, the place always looks disheveled whenever I pop in, and the hardworking staff are darting about like chickens with their heads cut off trying to manage the self-service checkouts! I now find myself making the extra effort to trek a few more miles just to reach a tidier, better-stocked store. It's truly a pity things have come to this!
Gabriel Bennett (23/07/2025, 19:35):
I frequent this Morrison's store regularly. It's always clean and the staff are quite helpful. I do appreciate not having to worry about needing a £1 coin for a trolley!
Johnny Martin (22/07/2025, 13:30):
The customer service team at your Baillieston branch were absolutely top-notch. They were so friendly and helpful when I placed my Food Entertaining order on the 23rd of August. I was impressed by their efficiency and how they went above and beyond to assist me. Many thanks for a fantastic experience!
Virginia Anderson (22/07/2025, 01:43):
Fantastic supermarket with a wide range of products. Top-notch quality and great prices! I am extremely satisfied with this place for my shopping needs. It also has plenty of disabled parking spaces, which is very convenient.
Lauren Thompson (20/07/2025, 06:26):
There are just so many of those self-service checkouts these days, aren't there? It's like they're taking over! I miss the personal touch of interacting with a friendly cashier.
Nancy Hayes (19/07/2025, 13:22):
Morrisons Bailleston - Dreadfully undermanned, Managers who speak to their staff in a horribly abusive manner. Cash registers that never seem to function, exit barriers that are dysfunctional and the situation is deteriorating!
Karen Alexander (19/07/2025, 06:10):
Extremely helpful and friendly staff, such a tidy and well-kept store. It was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last.
Evelyn Perez (18/07/2025, 10:57):
A good majority of the staff at this Supermarket are extremely arrogant and rude individuals. Every now and then, you might come across a staff member who treats you with respect, but for the most part, they act as if they own the place. It is futile to report them to the managers as they are equally ignorant and intimidating, and likely to always take the side of their arrogant and ignorant staff. Shopping there is never a pleasant experience. I had to visit that awful store again today and was harassed by Lindsay's associates. It's a typical situation where individuals with no real purpose in life seek to intimidate others when given a slight bit of power.
